Giving Freebies as Gifts?
Freebies
I was wondering what people thought regarding giving away your free stuff as gifts? I have some travel size minis of an expensive brand; and have bought someone a designer cosmetic bag.... could I put these free minis in it?
Don't see why not. You don't have to say they were free, you could make up a nice little hamper. Soap and glory do little mini packs.
I don't see any issue with it. I have given competition wins as presents before. They were items that I wouldn't normally be able to for that person and they were delighted. I have given freebies and competition wins to my best friend and my mother in law and my husbands work colleagues and they have all loved what they were given.
I think that's absolutely fine I wouldn't personally be offended and my husband has actually asked me to fill his stocking with aftershave samples and money so he can buy the one he likes best
A gift's a gift. As long as it's nothing too cheap in appearance or quality that you wouldn't want for yourself or accept, then the other party should feel the same way.
Yes that’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with it. I’m abit confused as to why you asked this question? It‘s totally fine and normal.
I think it would be great to do.
There is some great freebies available that could do a little hamper up
I struggle to find freebies for men
But have had loads of stuff for women☺
ive won quite a few body shop competitions recently but one win bundle will last me ages so put all the others away as presents! Don’t see why not!
I think it depends how fusssy and middle classed the people you are giving it to are. Last year I made cupcakes and gave those to a friend of mine and her reaction was 'did you just get these out of the freezer and defrost them?'. The fact that I'd made those for her went over her head. I thought that was a nice personal gift but she wasn't impressed (in fact I've not heard from her since Jan). My mother doesn't like gifts that have been bought reduced or in the sale. She wants expensive items. I gave her loads of perfume samples last year along with her main presents and she threw them in the bin she told me.
That is so rude!! People should be thankful they are being thought of not turn there noses up.
I would prefer if people gave me gifts after Xmas from the sales as I hate so much money being spent!
I think it's ok to give competition items as gifts. I won a £45 bottle of whiskey in a raffle (I actually won about £400 worth of stuff that day for £4 worth of raffle tickets) and it gave me the chance to give a friend a really nice gift and he loved it!
lealea3000 I agree. She is a 'christian' too she claims. She knows I don't have lots of money. I thought it was nice gift as my cupcakes are rather well known for being delicious and she had 2 different types all decorated up. We spoke once again afterwards and I haven't heard from her all year. At least I don't have to bother with her gift this year.
I agree. A relation of mine was 40 a few months ago and I set myself a challenge of 40 gifts. Approximately half were recycled freebies or competition wins. The recipient was shocked amazed and very pleased with the lot. Saved me loads of cash too.
Do it! You might as well! Online Christmas shopping without the cost! It's a brilliant idea, although, I may be a bit bias with saying that as I'm doing so myself!
I would. I often use freebies and competition wins as gifts. It saves me spending anything.
I would love to receive a present that someone had managed to get for free and know it's saved them spending a lot of money on me.
Tbh I've done this with my grandads wife, it's like putting a little hamper together.
She gas always been grateful
