Yes me no swearing , sex or violence and i hate to say it good old Mary Whitehouse - Its funny how we used to laugh at her but now its actually a different story!

Space 1999 and UFO , good old 3-2-1 and Brucies generation game lol

Halcyon days of yore!

Fear not Nicola you can sample just a wee bit of those days over on FORCES TV - Starsky and Hutch , Battlestar Galactica, UFO and more,,,

Then we have Man About The House, George And Mildred, Terry & June and On The Buses are on repeat!

My girlfriend is actually from Slovakia and they find our new comedy quite lowbrow and unfunny but she says those old shows are the funniest shows she has ever seen - every time they are on she is automagically in front of the tv!

Gentle humour she calls it!

RegularComper90 Yeah shame what happened to Yootha she was married to the guy who played Dave the barman in Minder.

George is still going though he is a really nice guy in person!

Shame what happened to all the old stars - when i found out what happened to the stars of Man About The House which was the pregenitor to George and Mildred it was very sad - Richard O Sullivan is now in some home for old folks a broken hearted old man after losing his girlfriend on the show - the blonde not the one he fancied on the show Chrissie lol Funny to think he was once a sex symbol lol

Showing my age now!

Gentle humour of the 60's and 70's much better than anything now.

It's still safe depending on the country and area, to be precise. As for beaches in UK.. not sure that's a thing people actually do. lol

I personally have no problem going out when I want.

I recommend The Dukes of Hazzard. The good, fun, comedic and simple ol' times.

They don't make shows like this no more.

I definitely miss the times when people had respect for their elders. I hate that basic manners are not slways put into practise and that the unspoken rules such as being quiet in a cinema or giving up a bus seat are quickly becoming a thing of the past. I also wish kids knew what boredom was! When you literally had nothing to do unlike now when they're on their tablets and iPhones while watching TVs and they say they are bored!! Go outside, it's great out there!

People have been dumbed-down by the constant use of phones on the go, it's kind of rare to see one that isn't looking at his/her phone while walking the street.

Totally agree with all of that - and thats unlike me lol

There is no such thing as morality, kindness and respect - its seen as a weakness now!

Knight Rider is another iconic show with a memorable car, being that K.I.T.T.

Dunno if Married... with Children airs in US as it's considered "offensive" by today's progressive modern standards. Probably not because The Dukes of Hazzard don't and that's another un-PC show.

Oh really. Maybe being old means you have more experience of life and you know it was better in the 80`s...etc

I wasn't born until the early 90s, but I love 60s and 70s music. Much better than my own generation of 'music' if you want to call it that. The same goes with many TV shows and sitcoms which we no longer get.

Western movies and Classics in general show what the Western world was once about and how it changed dramatically. That's a thing I like about them but also that a good flick of cowboys is something I'll always be happy to watch.

This tune goes perfectly along with it:

Rest in peace, Johnny Cash. You'll never be forgotten. ❤
