Good Value Food at Services?

Which services food supplier would you say is best value for money? Will be taking a couple of long drives soon and if I want to stop, I'm hoping to do so and somewhere that wont break the bank.
Why not take your own food and a flask? Lots cheaper and not full of preservatives. At work yesterday stopped for comfort break and colleague bought pack of 3 sausage rolls. Threw two away as she said they were vile.
If your actually know in advance where you are going, do some research and pre plan and find places you like whether they be large chain restaurants or small pubs that serve food just off the motorways, not only cheaper but far better quality also. We usually do this and end up in a Brewers Fayre or Sizzling pub restaurant , it's what the kids like and it decent value.
