Grandmother in Indonesia Swallowed Alive by 22ft-Long Python

In the News

This is not the first time a python has swallowed a person and will probably not be the last

It devoured this poor woman in indonesia , they found her dead inside its' stomach after cutting it open

They can grow up to 27 feet long and usually devour wild boar, deer, domestic dogs and monkeys, even small crocodile

A 13 ft long python did bite off more than it could chew when it tried to eat a 6ft long crocodile in florida but it was too big and hard and it ruptured the pythons' stomach , both died

It was a 'crocodile rock' , so to speak

If she had a sword or a machete she'd have a chance of survival, but that's not something people casually carry.

Only 54.

RIP.

telmel We have adders, but they eat rodents and lizards, so we are fortunately not on their shopping list. Here's Brusher Mills in the New Forest. Image

Probably killed by a human and fed to the snake, this is exactly how I would cover up a murder.

Howmuch I don't think that needs to be the case, these snakes are very stealthy and silently approach their prey, they eat big cats, monkeys and lots of creatures that are very alert and fast. Probably the first you know of it is when you are being crushed as it spirals around you preventing you from moving before it then slides you into its mouth. Such an ancient predator I'm sure they have fine tuned their technique of constricting their prey over millions of years. They cut off your blood circulation rather than suffocate you. They prevent your heart from working typically. There are some venomous constrictor snakes and some may be mildly venomous but most constrictors aren't especially the larger ones it seems. People who hunt and kill snakes typically find it quite easy, when you know their weaknesses and have the right weapons. I feel like if I was dealing with them I'd have a metal suit a bit like a medieval knight but with blades and spikes sticking out so they couldn't constrict around me. Then it would be simple case of cutting off the head or shooting through the head.

My mother is terrified of snakes she can't even talk about them. So I definitely won't be mentioning this news report to her.

BonzoBanana I do like comments, go with cutting off the head so not to alarm your mother. At least they can not open doors and we are probably the last thing they would want to eat.
