My Hair's Stopped Growing! (Nearly)
Ask a Question
MrsChimp and my hairdresser have always called me a freak because how quick my hair grew, but suddenly it's kind of stopped.
I used to visit the salon every 4-5 weeks for a haircut (before Covid, MrsChimp has been doing it ever since). But since I had it done around 6-8 weeks ago, my hair seems to be on standstill.
My diet, medication or anything hasn't changed and my hair isn't falling out at all.
Has anyone (particularly gents) ever had the same happen to them? Or does anyone know why this might have happened?
Thanks for any input.
TheChimp it’s best to speak to the doc when things happens quickly it could be something up.
My hair started to fall out at 21. If all your hair has suddenly stopped growing if that’s what you mean ? Then I would check with the doc. Or it’s possible that the growth of your hair has slowed down. I’ve not heard of it suddenly all stopping.
Just a quick look on the net. Do your own research though…..
Hair can stop growing or grow slowly for a variety of reasons including age, genetics, hormones, or stress. You may notice your hair stops growing in one spot or seems to be growing slowly on one side. There are plenty of treatment options for slow-growing hair, including: medication.
rossruby1977 Thanks for your replies, but it's funny how it's grown quickly all my life and then suddenly stopped since my last haircut.
I was seriously trying to start growing a mullet as well
TheChimp don’t grow one of them lol.
It could be just stress. Some people get worried about losing their hair. Don’t let that add to it. My hair never stopped like you have explained. It just thinned out started at 21, I could grow it on the sides and have a horse shoe haircut like that lol
Just ask the doc mate could be something they can help with.
rossruby1977 Got an appointment with my GP soon, so I might bring it up. But I don't want to waste their and take up their time tbh with more BS.
If I start losing my hair, I will get worried.
I'm not sure how baldness comes about but maybe the little hair folicals instead of dying instantly go through a sort of death throes event where they only manage a small amount of hair growth in their dying stage. Mentally prepare for being a slaphead would be my advice or maybe try a diet that helps with hair growth if such a diet exists.
My hair is receding, not too bad at the moment but I think I'll get away with being bald if I have to go that far. I'm not going to have a haircut with just a few slithers of hair around my ears etc I hate that look.
