What Happens after the Book People?

Ask a Question

I was thinking last night after I put in another massive order at the book people, what will happen if it closes, I know its in receivership so I was wondering will everyone else start to increase the price or their books? And I also wondered where everyone else buys their books from?

Wow! I didn't know this and it is a blow! I can't say I buy every month from them but I do buy regularly, for my family and friends. Will keep an eye on this one in case someone has other sources.

I've been buying a lot from them recently as I'm home schooling my little one, I've managed to get some amazing learning resources at more than 80% cheaper than on the high Street..

Thanks for sharing as I hadn't heard. They have some lovely deals on books. It's such a shame 🦋

It is a shame I got some lovely Christmas gifts, book sets for under £10 and craft kits etc. I hope they get some assistance and find an investor

I didn't know this. Their sales are annoying though, like DFS of the book world. Hard to tell when their prices are genuinely good.

I know what you mean, I sometimes find their offers in my email saying finishes at midnight, then the next day that's another offer, the 30% they have on now if you spend £30 is great and comes off sales prices too.

Is this true? I know a lot of people who get this subscription. Someone has not been handling the cash right. I guess everyone will be back to buying from Amazon, and Abe Books them if they go.

They used to come into NHS offices to sell book. We would get a box of books to look at and could order. I picked up a quite a few books from them over the years. Always seemed popular. Lots of people would order from them. I didn't know they were on the way out. Maybe people would rather look at their phones now than books. I don't; I love books.

Yes they used to go into the children's centres near me and I've not seen there six for a while, I guess you're right a lot of people prefer online books as they don't take up room in the house, I like to look on a bookshelf though and my little one is just the same
