Who Else is Bored in Quarantine?

Ask a Question

Who else is bored at home I'm sure its not only me. I'm thinking we should keep each other company.

Who should keep each other company? Doesn't that rather defeat the object?

Not if it's online company. That must be what the OP is suggesting, since we can't physically keep other members company...

Certainly not ideal, but I pass my time going for a walk, spending time on my PS4 and watching Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc. I do miss going coffee β˜•

Never said I was nor implied I was!?

I am in disabled groups with thousands of others, plus twitter so I know how many are like me.

Many of us never get away from this life.

A lockdown will be over after a while and most people get to go back to normal and is saving lives.

Lots of ways to entertain yourself for the next few weeks too.

Not looking for sympathy just stating a fact and never claimed or implied it was just me...

The violin is a bit rude tbh...

I am absolutely fine with it. As most people on here know, I spent 8 months in isolation with my husband and son last year, only going out for his hospital or drs appointment. This isolation is necessary and I think that sometimes we need to be bored, to appreciate what we do have. There are plenty of people who will have been isolated before this happened, so this will be normal for them, that doesn't mean it will be easier though. I miss taking my son to his playgroups and seeing him interacting with his friends but I will do what I need to do to keep him safe.

Do you have family and friends on WhatsApp or Skype? Give them a call. Learn something new by watching some tutorial videos on YouTube.

I'm enjoying it, after the 12 weeks vulnerable time has elapsed I'm hoping it's extended, happy to social distance from all humans forever. There is so much content online to immerse yourself in, free courses, puzzles, films, books etc etc. YouTube tutorials as Dennab suggested. It is what you make it and with communication these days, nobody is far away from each other, admittedly it's not within physical distance but still helps.

We as humans are spoilt really and expect everything and more so any change scares us. Just embrace it and come out the other side with a smile

My OH has had a family bereavement this week, His grandparents can't go to their own daughters funeral, either can many other of his family members . Its devastating for them all being a close family. There will be no wake & only up to 10 people are allowed to attend the funeral. The lady in question was well loved & I have no doubt she would have had a huge turnout otherwise. Sadly we will not be the only family going through the same experience. Embrace the fact you are alive & healthy. Remember we are isolating so less people have to experience similar losses. There is worse things than feeling bored. Something I myself have been given a reminder of in the last few days.

Sorry for your partners loss. We are in the same boat, the 'stalwart' of our family, my 90 year old aunt passed away at the start of April and her funeral is next week and there are 10 closer relatives than me attending the funeral, it's heartbreaking, but I will do something at home to mark the occasion somehow.

We also had family friends pass, including a husband and wife that contracted the virus and died within 3 days of each other and there's already issues between the relatives of who will go to which service so they all get to say goodbye somehow.

Every day we wake up we should be thankful, as you said, there's a lot of people that haven't got that luxury

I'm sorry for your losses Twollocks it's such a awful time for anybody losing a loved one right now. It's so difficult when someone has had more than 10 close friends & family. In our case my partner at least gets to attend the funeral, me & my sons will sit together at home instead & raise a glass to the lady in question.
