Herbs for Cooking

Other

During spring, summer and autumn, I grow the herbs that I need for my cooking. Just during winter I buy from the supermarkets because they don't get enough sunlight near windows. Whag do you do for your cooking?

archanat you can, but it's not good idea to freeze it ,

it takes most of the flavour away and the herbs is not so strong as it was before it went into the freezer

texture will change as well

here is a website you can have a look at:

freezerwww.thisisinsider.com/foods-not-to-put-in-the-freezer-2019-1

Drying it, is a lot more better

it will last longer for a very long time

it's freshness is still there

some herbs are stronger when it's dry

My late grandma always told me best way to eat herbs is drying or fresh... back home where I come from

nobody would allow you to put herbs in a freezer.

they will think your losing it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

as it's much hotter where I come from it's a lot easier to dry if you need to store good amount of herbs.

I have never seen my Indian friends put herbs in the freezer either,

so am guessing Indian people

would never do that or Chinese people because of the reasons above

here is another website you may want to look at

www.cheatsheet.com/culture/foods-you-should-never-put-in-the-freezer-revealed.html/

hope this helps πŸ™‚ πŸ‘ 🌿

I do grow them on my own except during winter. They get dry and never grow back.
