Ho Ho Ho Its Xmas...in July at Selfridges

Ask a Question

So Selfridges in London has opened their Xmas shop already ...a bit early? Or it’s a good idea to get a head start on the festivities?

Personally I think it's to early, October onwards is the ideal time in my view, this gives everyone over 2 months and 2-3 pay periods, to plan their christmas festivities

I understand thou why Selfridges would open a Christmas shop now thou, it's likely aimed at visitors ( just guessing) to London throughout the summer period. I remember a few years ago in Disney World America there was a Christmas shop and we bought bits and pieces there in July knowing full well that we would not be going back there for a while.

I guess that’s a possible reason, and makes sense, as I do like the Xmas stuff Selfridges have, albeit pricy. I do t start buying until December - lastminute.com 😁

Way too early. Disgustingly early. I hate anything Christmas before December. Buy presents and stuff early, sure, spread the cost, but no decorations out, and shops need to stop making it Christmas earlier each year.

To be fair, it wouldn't upset me in the slightest, because I absolutely adore Christmas! If I am up in London, I will definitely be going I need there! I knos some people are very particular but I'm happy with it any time of year.

Lol yes there are people who are not so happy with seeing Xmas any earlier than December. Someone I worked with would not have any Xmas music playing in the office until it was the actual lead up till Xmas...which was a shame as we had our office Xmas bash in Nov and couldn’t play Xmas music for it
