Homeless Man Doesn't Wash for 50 Years yet Lives to the Age of 94
In the News
Amou Haji, from Iran was nicknamed the dirtiest man in the world by locals
He hadn't taken a bath in 50 years and was so dirty some people thought he was a rock when he lay down in the street
Ironically he died just after he was given his first bath , but they put his death down to eating roadkill and the parasites associated with it
But he still lived to 94 years of age despite not washing and eating scraps
and i doubt if he ever sought medical assistance during his life
Maybe we are not doing the right thing washing every day, i have read we can wash away the good bacteria taking too many showers

MelissaLee1963 He sure did M, a great age to live to without a home, shelter and fine cuisine and of course washing facilities , poor soul
I don't think we fully understand how bacteria and viruses work as its microscopic. I feel its likely bacteria eat viruses which is why when summer is here and bacteria are replicating far more frequently we risk infection from bacteria but far less viruses but with the winter when bacteria replicate in far lower numbers its viruses that are more likely to infect us as there are less predators to them (bacteria). Someone covered in bacteria would have a shield of sorts against viruses.
The more viruses the human body has the more corrupted the genetics and the faster we age. The more we mix with other people plus have different sexual partners the more viruses our bodies will accumulate and the faster we will age. Some viruses introduce terrible medical conditions but others just cause a general degradation of our genetics without obvious symptoms.
So the benefits I see for that Iranian man is no sexual activity and not much social interaction plus a shield of sorts against too many viruses.
It's like people that eat sterile processed food, it can destroy healthy bacteria in the gut causing a reduced level of health.
BonzoBanana Thanks again for the insight B, we are not as healthy as we believe by following daily regimes, its the same with washing hair, some people believe it is better to go months without washing their hair as washing strips away the natural oils , and they say after the initial few weeks there is a natural scent and not a smell of sweat
telmel Interesting video here about microbes, it has info on viruses, bacteria, fungi and amoebas and their relative size. Viruses need a host to replicate but bacteria self-replicate but there is a large crossover between them in many other ways. Some viruses are just packets of data really ready to attach and corrupt cells.
He reminds me of the indigenous people who live all their lives away from society, yet when they come in contact with them, they get sick and die.
If I had that option, I'd have taken it even with that risk.
RIP to the old man. Dying at 94 years old is kind of an achievement, but yeah, he probably would have lasted a bit longer and he looked well fed.
I am shocked no one reported him to social service or its equivalent or offered him accommodation.
jam45 I doubt very much they have much in the way of social services where he lived. and it sounds like he would have refused any help anyway.
