I Need Resilient House Plant Suggestions

Other

I have recently re decorated my downstairs and would love to put a few house plants dotted around. Does anybody know any that are hard to kill?

Hi eavessarah58. Succulent plants are hard to kill. Christmas cactus too. Cactus if you like them. I've bought a string of hearts last month and it's doing new leaves everyday, i only watered it twice: super cute and easy.

For many years I kept a Peace Lily that flowered every year, with minimum care.

I have also had yuccas, ferns and Swiss cheese plants, all of which thrived without undue fuss.

Get some triffid seeds from John Wyndham's. They're man-eaters in a conservatory. 😂

Didn't think you were old enough to know John Wyndham Johnny. The Midwich Cuckoos was one of the first grown up books I read lol!

These are similar and actually exist although a bit difficult to fit into the average living room and could be distracting when you are trying to watch tipping point especially as they have an intense smell of excrement.

That makes you a youngster.

I have a wonderful anthurium which suffers neglect and constant overwatering. Lasted years and still looks beautiful. Also, you can’t go wrong with orchids. Once it’s finished flowering DONT throw it out, youll be surprised when it produces long flower stems in a few months.

Aloe vera plants are very easy to look after, hardly need watering & are good for burns & rashes. I have a large one that I hardly ever tend to & still looks good.

Cacti are usually very resilient and don’t need much care, although I do know people who’ve still managed to kill their cacti. Alternatively, you can get a lot of decent looking fake potted plants if it’s just about brightening up the place, decorative purposes
