He went out with a planned intention that night. If it hadn't of been Sarah than it would have likely been another lady. He's now where he belongs at least. Hopefully for the rest of his miserable existence. No comfort to her family I expect. We can take comfort that as an ex police officer now in prison he likely won't have an easy time of it. 🤷‍♀️

I wonder what turned turned him from a good serving police offer to a murderer.

Pjran I doubt he would've been a good serving police officer in the first place especially if he can turn that quickly and murder and innocent person just walking home

niknak88 I believe he'd exposed himself a couple of times previously, and yet still got to keep his job.

niknak88 It's extremely worrying.

Hopefully this tragedy will mean the Police scrutinize their own a little more, and don't let people like Couzens continue to work.

The screening process is rubbish. In my mind the chances of a person who exposes himself to women would be a good serving police officer were slim to none. I accept that maybe a speeding ticket or two or some other minor crime should be allowed but clearly he had some sexual issues and you really don't want such a person dealing with women, children etc. In the USA I keep hearing of police officers with criminal pasts and they struggle to enrol people because the pay is low and the danger is high but still you have to set standards because the people need to be fair and honest and wanting to do the right thing morally. Horrific that such a violent sexual predator was part of the police force over here. Her life is gone now. Personally I still believe there should be a the death penalty for people who take the lives of others like this. He will cost a small fortune in prison and ultimately we only have limited financial resources. If we pay to keep him alive for 30-40 years in prison or whatever it is those resources could have saved the lives of many innocent people who need medical attention or more policing in high crime areas.
