'Iconic' Piece of Dartmoor up for Auction
In the News
I was up in arms before I read this in full, luckily you can't stop people going there as it has public access. But it makes you think how hard they are for £ to put them up for sale
I found this quite shocking.
The new owner will be able to enjoy "really stunning" views from the top of the tor, as well as their own stone circle, said auctioneers.
Surely they can enjoy these views, just as the rest of us can without buying it? On the other hand, although they won't be able to make any changes it seemed rather cheap....?
I was shocked, but assumed the charity needs the cash, I suppose it's the pride of being the owner. Although not sure if you would then be responsible for keeping the public access maintained
