Ideas for Home Made Gifts

Ask a Question

I am not particularly crafty and I am not that great a cook. I was thinking about making Sloe Gin but I know this isn't that original. Any ideas?

You can make soap, or candles. You can easily get the base materials online and even if itโ€™s a bit of a mess, you can say they were handmade - that always makes it seem more premium

Thank you that's a great idea, I love candles so if they don't work out I can always keep them for myself ๐Ÿ™‚

You could bake something! There are a lot of super easy and quick baking recipes out there. Maybe some cookies/brownies/cupcakes

Toffee or sweets is always nice, you need a food thermometer I think. Beeswax wraps are easy to make too.

I did make some for Christmas a couple years ago. One bottle leaked in my suitcase so everything smelled like lemon on arrival and my brother didn't get his lemoncello gift ๐Ÿ™„

I'm busy making 'Advent/Christmas Boxes' for Son, Daughter and boyfriend. Contents all provided by either freebies, unwanted prizes or bought by vouchers I've won. They all get something everyday and a major item on 25th.

Fudge is really easy to make and tastes great! You can make it in the microwave, no need for a candy thermometer or anything.

You can make it in a slow cooker also which I've always wanted to try!

Nothing as good as home made fudge and as cocolgooh says, it's not difficult to do. Fill crackers with freebies and specific treats for the recipients. You didn't say whether it was adult gifts you were looking for or children - tooth fairy pillows are easy. Infused gin/vodka are really easy to do - I was bored at the height of lock-down and made lots of different options. These baubles just arrived so I will fill them and attach a personal message.

Iโ€™ve never tried but apparently bath bombs are really easy to make and they can be so expensive to buy..

I used to make these when I was younger, I used to love doing it but like you say once you buy all the products itโ€™s quite costly or at least used to be, Iโ€˜m unsure how much the stuff costs now!
