Just for Fun, but Not so Easy Songs with Men's Names in the Title
Ask a Question
I really enjoy the topic started by gerrykelly25 about songs with women's name and it got me thinking how few I could think of with men's names, off the top of my head
Daniel - Elton John
My perfect cousin, Kevin - the Undertones
I'm Just Wild About Harry - Judy Garland
Looking forward to seeing what people come up with
Alejandro by Lady Gaga
Adam's Song by Blink 182
Johnny B Goode by Chuck Berry
Stan by Eminem...
beccatavender That was all I could think of, I can think of lots more with women's names!
Stephen - Alice Cooper
St Anthony - Alex Harvey
St Stephen - Grateful Dead
For Richard - Caravan
Rock of David - Suzanne Vega
Bad eyed Bill - Dr, Hook
Ballad of Bill Hubbard - Roger Waters
The last time I saw Richard - Joni Mitchell
Chuck e's in love - Rickie Lee Jones
Sam Hall - Joan Baez
(OK ... you can see my taste in music here!)

Twinkle sang a song called Terry..........He rode into the night accelerated his motor bike, I cried to him in fright, don't do it, don't do it, don't do it................................

Mickey by Toni Basil
Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz
Dirty Harry by Gorillaz
Cotton Eyed Joe by Rednex
Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth
Uncle John From Jamaica by The Vengaboys
I hadn't heard of these, but intrigue with the lyrics of Clint Eastwood which in turn made me think of Robert De Niroβs
Waiting Bananarama
Why ? Why not a book , film , TV series , Road name , building name etc , etc with a name in the title ? Isn't this really just an excuse to purloin points ? Be honest ?
As I said in my comment, I enjoyed playing the women's title game if you see that chat thread you will see I made about 4 or 5 comments.
It made me think of songs I hadn't heard in years and some I had never heard of. For example I will listen to Clint Eastwood as I am not familiar with this song.
beccatavender If this is what LD Chat has become , fair enough . I would hate deprive you of your "two a day " So I will not comment further .
I only post on topics I'm interested in, so 20 points for commenting ? Golfforall
beccatavender I must admit I've enjoyed this too ...it reminded me of songs long forgotten and loads of linked memories, so thanks for that
beccatavender I'll comment on 2 of your posts so as not to gain too many points ...lol .... I love the comment about a boy named Sue .. 'If I ever had a boy, I name him Bill or George or Frank Any damn thing but Sue' nice one. As for the points question .... I see 'chat' as just a fun place to come ...or to ask for ideas/advice and i'm guessing loads of folk post loads of 'non earning' comments here ...like me .... so, go with it, I say! (I do get fed up with the Ebay and Amazon rubbish deals tho so am with Golfforall on that one).
I think you are being a wee bit petty and unfair now. This is what chat is all about, a topic that lots of people want to join in and comment. A bit of fun.
I am more incensed at the constant news links that are copied and pasted, I have counted 10 per page sometimes, maybe more when I am not looking and that really is scraping the barrel in an effort to accumulate points. It clearly states in the guidelines that occasional one are fine but too many are considered spamming, but is anything done.....no.
I have given up worrying now as LD can obviously afford to give away points right, left and centre.
Lynibis I agree!
I did the initial thread and it was popular, with lots of people engaging and βchatting virtually β. I very rarely post a chat comment and therefore was not trying to purloin points!
The news links are mainly just that days headlines.
I'm pushing my luck with this one as it's both genders and could've been posted on the other thread. Johnny Cash 'A boy named Sue'
Extra points as at the end it's says
If I ever had a boy, I name him Bill or George or Frank Any dam thing but Sue
After a slow start, you had me thinking about this challenge throughout yesterday.
Vincent - Don McLean
Jackie Wilson says - Van Morrison
John, I'm only dancing - Davie Bowie
My Brother Jake - Free
Making plans for Nigel - XTC
I loved Jackie Wilson says but haven't heard it for years, will put it on Spotify, which reminded me of Geno by Dexys Midnight Runners
