What Was the Last Book You Read?

Ask a Question

I was watching a documentary on Harry Potter and 1 of the things I saw in the program was the amount of people who discovered books as a result of Harry Potter . I do love a good book and the type of books ranges from Autobiographies to Piers Morgan . What was your last book and would you recommend it to others?

Called The Midwife based on the TV show of the same name. Fascinating to read about the 1950's NHS and the midwives in east London.

I read 1984 by George Orwell again.

Eyes are knackered now, so can't really read anything ☹️

The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland. Its about what happened to the planes that were diverted to Gander after the twin towers were hit. At the moment I'm reading Wicked about what happened before The Wizard of Oz and Girls on the Home Front, I love 2nd world war era books.

I am currently reading Alias Grace by Margaret Attwood. I'm not too far in at the moment but it seems interesting, about prison and asylum life in Canada in the 19th Century. Suffice it to say I'm glad I wasn't there!

I can't remember the last book that I read as I haven't read a book in years. I just don't have the time to read books, I wish I did. I read books to my son.

About a boy, the last and only paper fiction book I have read. I liked the film better, probably because I have Aphantasia.

I try to read both fact and fiction so the last book was, Ertugrul Ghazi, A Very Short Biography by a guy whose name escapes me at the moment. I wanted to know more about him after watching a massively long series on Netflix which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was very short though, only took an hour or so to read as very little is known about him.

My favourite historian is a guy called Dan Jones and he has just released his first historical fiction book set in the time of Edward III. It is called Essex Dogs and I started it a few nights ago. To say I am disappointed is an understatement as I was expecting a good read. Well into it but nothing much has happened yet, but I will plod on.

I love reading! I’m currently reading a book called Murder Road, fiction but good. My favourite author is Patricia Cornwell with her Scarpetta series.

When i was at school we used to visit the local library once a week. It was then that I discovered Enid Blyton's Famous Five & Secret Seven book series & my love of reading began. I am a big fan of the Potter series too, My sons grew up on them. Infact the next book on my kindle is Robert Galbraiths The Ink Black Heart (AKA JK Rowling)

However I'm currently reading Pine by Francine Toon, after a recommendation. It's a gothic witchy supernatural set in the Scottish Highlands.
