Kate Middleton's Recovery: Is It Fair to Keep Asking Questions?

Ask a Question

So with all this fuss around Kate Middleton and her recovery and her photo , should we just leave her alone to recover from whatever surgery she has had ?

Feel so sorry for her at the minute , what do you think ?

Or do you think we have right to ask as she is a public figure ?

I think too much fuss is being made. She is recovering from a surgery. I mean who feels and looks good after that? She is a public figure so probably felt she should put something out on Mother’s Day. If there was no way of looking good (and that is her job to do so) she probably just chose a previous picture and adapted it. Who wouldn’t do that? She can’t do right from wrong. It’s really not a big deal anyway.

Well if she actually showed her face everyone would leave her alone, all she has to do is stand in the window so the papperatsi can take a photo, but choses not too, weird...

martinlufc5637 What if she feels and looks rubbish after surgery? Her pictures go all over the world. She has written a Mother’s Day message and also an apology to follow up the photo speculation. She is due to return for public life at Easter. They are entitled to some privacy.

Given the royal family's long history of dealing with the press, it appears incredibly naive that Kate (or whoever did the photo editing) thought newspapers, photographers, etc wouldn't notice the Photoshop editing mistakes. The fact the original unedited photograph hasn't been released strongly suggests significant changes have been made and the image published may have involved combining elements from a number of different photographs. Which, unsurprisingly has led to further speculation. The royals themselves are responsible for stoking increased interest. Much of what the royals do is purely ceremonial. Not much would change if the monarchy was abolished. They need the press much more than the press needs the monarchy.

I agree with you. None of us would want the world and his wife peering into our private health issues and allowing us no privacy. I have no need to know but the press make out 'the people want to know' when really it is them hovering around trying to up sales and make a quick buck. I bet if you did a survey in the streets hardly anyone would say they want to know all the details.

Couldn't care less for any of the royals, but she is still a human being and should be treated as such. Her private health issues should be between her and her family and we should all respect that.

I couldn't care less about her but frankly, if she wants to be left alone, a good idea would be not to post anything 🤯 She clearly knows it's going to bring attention (which she must have wanted) but didn't count on just how much after being caught out tinkering with her photo!

Consumer I believe she only posted that to try and stop all the speculation. She had kept silent for 2 months and was accused of not keeping 'us' informed and being secretive so she obviously didn't crave attention, she wanted her medical issues kept private. I would say the royal advisors suggested posting the pic to shut everyone up but unfortunately it caused more of a furore.

Lynibis Seems like your comment is misdirected. I didn't say she craved attention - you did. I didn't speak about her medical issues - you did. We can all speculate and just agree to disagree.

Not sure why you reacted as you did, you seem to be putting me down lately. Was I not allowed to mention medical issues? I thought that was called chat/conversation. I apologise if my opinions don't align with yours but 7 decades on earth I think allows me to speak my mind, as long as I am not rude. Which I wasn't.

Lynibis A chat/conversation works differently for different people - we are not all the same after all. I don't care for your misdirected commentary and have been clear about this. If this translates to 'putting you down', that's your interpretation of choice. Where did I say she craved attention? I still didn't. There is a difference between wanting and craving. We are all allowed to react as we choose - I found your commentary misdirected. We don't all have to respond in the same vein you choose to. I don't need your opinion to align with mine (unsure where you're getting this from). I am always happy to agree to disagree (exactly as I said in my previous comment)... and leave it there.

Nobody no matter their status, wants to be annoyed with people looking at them or asking personal questions when they aren't well or recovering from anything. The Royal Family are constantly in view for the public/media etc. Kate has had to teach her kids what she was taught and knows, what they can understand anyway. Always having to look your best, leave the woman alone to try to relax, slouch around and get better.

The thing is that she appeared quite quickly after all 3 births looking immaculate and I think we have rightly or wrongly come to expect the same now. In time we may be told what procedure she's had but let her recover at her own pace.

Having undergone abdominal surgery myself needing 6 weeks off work, it was annoying enough with my line manager wanting to regularly check in on me, when all I wanted was to left alone to deal with the pain and other side effects, without having to report in. I feel sorry for her, although she is a public figure, people and the media need to back off and let her rest in peace. They just want to knows the ins and outs which is none of their business, they are her private parts and that should be respected. In relation to the photo what a fuss, they moaned when they didn’t see her, now they’re moaning about the photo, no pleasing them, I expect this was the last thing she wanted to be doing and who can blame her if she wanted to tweak it so they all looked their best

I honestly don’t know why people are obsessed with the Royals. We are all just people at the end of the day.

It's so sad that people just can't leave her alone. It's her personal business, It could have been a hysterectomy and how traumatic that must be. What ever it was leave her be.

I guess the argument is they are in a public position and people having an interest in their doings is part of their “job”

From my POV though I don’t really see why anyone is interested in what surgery she had etc.

Personally I couldn't care less. I do think people would think differently if Megan had released altered pics. She'd be accused of all sorts. I loath the hypocrisy.
