What Gets You Feeling Nostalgic?
Ask a Question
I am recovering from a cough and cold, so have been drinking Lemsip, even though the capsules may be faster acting, it has to be the drink. I think it's because that's what my Mum give me when I was a kid. So, it has the added benefit of making me feel loved. Although I have drawn the line at rubbing Vic on my chest
What if anything, do you use as an adult that brings those emotions ?
Strangely sometimes I smell something which reminds me of a time in the past like a holiday. This often makes me feel nostalgic for those times. It could be walking past a restaurant and the certain smell of a meal or it could even be a chemical smell that reminds me of being in hospital in the past.
I past a food hut that was cooking doughnuts and it reminded me of the past when you got doughnut dough in a can and made your own doughnuts at home with it, frying the dough in a frying pan. The smell was identical as I suppose you would expect.
I see the same product is still available in the US but I've not seen it in the UK for years.
I really don't want to remember anything under 40 except my kids growing up. Even though they are in their 40s themselves now, I still dream about them as kids and wake up feeling tearful. I would love to spend just one day with them as children again.
I know what you mean, they grow up so quickly. But no matter how much you want to , you can never turn back the clock and just need to make the most of now, by making time for each other
