Is There Life beyond 150 000 Points?
Feedback
So someone has now hit over the 150k (not me yet!) so I was wondering what the next checkpoint will be?
please don’t let it be 300k - can’t imagine how long that will take!
any ideas? I think 200k is doable perhaps?
hspexy 200k points, I see? What's the reward for 150k points? I assume it's £50 Amazon voucher?
hspexy Pretty generous that LD are giving £50 Amazon vouchers to their users who contribute. On HUKD you get jack, unless during the Deer Hunting thing because most are lucky there if they even get a £2 Amazon voucher though a few do win stuff like iPhones and PS4s but Christ, you need to spend like days to find the deers and click on them before they disappear.
That's also likely when HUKD gets the highest amount of visits/clicks.
Ive got a long way to go be for i get to 150,000. I am finding it hard to get to 5,000. But i am chipping away at.
you definitely will. Just have fun along the way - one day you’ll have like 1 million points and won’t remember the first 5k
ptenn00 Same. 78% but won't post deals/freebies just for the sake of it unless I actually like it myself.
Now on 120k but not gonna hit the mark any time soon. I enjoy posting deals and freebs regardless.
Ceebers True. I do wish users would be somewhat more active and posted comments on the deals/freebies to interact with each other. On LD we typically just get "thanks" which seems like a way to just get some points.
That's one aspect HUKD does better than LD but the rest is flawed, especially the voting system.
I miss mixmixi and Gamerofgames who seem to have left LD because let's admit, the video game section is pretty quiet and barely anyone posts on it except me.
Eh, I'm on 127k and didn't even notice it, to be honest. At this rate I'll eventually reach 150k but more importantly, I miss users interact chit-chat about game deals like they do on HUKD. Even if they'd complain then they'd have their own opinion and what have you.
What fun is it if we're always positive while pretending to deny a product has flaws? It's one's experience with it.
I do appreciate the incentive LD staff had made in regards to comments but doesn't seem to be much of a fix.
Rockman hey Good news - the number of comments site wide is ever increasing! We value the discussion aspect too (and certainly don’t want to discourage critique of deals - so long as it isn’t personal). It’s early days but our new point incentive seems to be working well and we’ve got more in the pipeline too
HUKD has about 10 years on us but we’re closing the gap
Kelsey It is in its early days but two years already passed by and the gaming section still to this day is pretty light, I and a few others post deals/freebies there. Hopefully it changes for the better, it's one of the categories that needs to be pumped up.
hi can u not keep checking out at 5k ? n get the £5 im aware it keeps the points or do we have to do it as above ?
Hi sorry for the late reply - only saw your post now. Your first checkpoint is 5k, but then it rises in increments to ease you into the 50k region, and then you can only cashout every 50k. This used to be a very hard target to achieve, but with all the extra ways you can get points now, it now seems easier
Hey sorry Im only responding now - only just saw this due to a recent post. I’m sure you’re well over 5k now always great to have the extra vouchers for Xmas
hspexy I am now over 15,000 points. Now going for the 50,000 points. It's going to take time. But I am in enjoying my self. Meeting you all and getting some good deals. I've only been here 5 month. And made some lovely friends and had a good laugh has well.
nicolajaynehend wow only 5 months? Time does fly, and you will hit 50k very quickly Glad you’re enjoying LD - it’s a great site with lovely people
Eh, reached 140k points now. Kinda cool to finally see a new amount than being stuck to 139.
Excellent - congrats! I like watching my points go up also, as well as watching the percentage rise. I’m nearing 90% again
hspexy What's after 150k, 200k?
Some people here are upset LD 'only' gives Amazon vouchers but it's actually a fantastic reward. If someone wants to turn it to real money, just look up what's popular right now and buy that, then sell on CeX or wherever.
Speaking of which, CeX stores abroad are way cleaner and better than the ones in UK. Think they've gotten used to being dirty and with low standards or what have you.
Rockman yes it’s 200k, and then 250k, which I’m heading for
Not sure why anyone would get upset with the vouchers - yes, it’s limited, but where else are you going to get rewarded for a site that’s already quite rewarding on its own? And there’s no reason why it won’t change in the future - things take time, so we certainly should enjoy the LD journey, especially those who have been on here since the beginning (I suspect it may be the newbies who may be less than satissues, which is understandable - there are loads of scam sites, so it’s perhaps just a way to work our if LD is genuine or not)
lol I can’t say I’ve every visited a CeX abroad, as the ones in the uk are just so dingy, overloaded with junk. But I will check one out when I’m out the country next
hspexy Having those Amazon vouchers as a reward is an excellent incentive but think I won't reach 200k points. I'm not into posting deals as much as I once was but still will when I find something worth sharing.
Posting deals even if it's not actually a deal in itself defeats the purpose. Deals by standard definition are to be found lower than the retail price but then it also comes into play if it's actually a good product and if the features or lack thereof appeal to the customer. Some for example on HUKD get all sensitive when someone votes cold on a deal because of a specific reason and then someone else replies "Your supposed to vote hot because it's a good price!!!".
By that logic, if a pack of turds (not necessarily in the literal sense but something pretty mediocre) are available for £1.00 then it's a good deal, right? lol.
Anyway, it's not his/her product on sale so why care that much.
