What do you think of this?

Seems now is a good time to learn along with your college student Ann1984.

Why not just cook a dinner each day together. Shepherds pie, Bolognese, chicken stew, no one is useless at cooking just lack of practise and motivation.

Ann1984 lol. πŸ˜‚ Whenever I try making something from a recipe it rarely turns out as it should. Having married nearly 50 years ago I now just go on experience and instinct. I truly believe cooking is relatively easy as long as you keep it simple. Sausages and mash with beans or peas, omelette, chicken pieces browned and put in a casserole or slo cooker with herbs, oxo, tom puree, root veg, Worcester sauce. You can add dumplings for final 40/50 minutes in a slow cooker, so easy following packet instructions.

As Lynibissays the dishes mentioned don't really need measurements. The kids made cakes at school using an egg as measurement 1 large egg = roughly 2oz/56.5g 4 large eggs = 8oz/ 250g

Why not make a big pot of soup? That's what I do when I have veggies that need to be used up, very cheap, healthy and easy 😊

Start simple - for a delicious cheese toastie:

Lesson 1

  • Grill one side of sliced seeded brown bread
  • One toasted, spread tomato ketchup on the other (uncooked) side
  • Put slices of mature cheddar on top of the uncooked ketchup side (no butter!)
  • Return to the grill
  • Remove from the grill once the cheese has melted
  • Let it cool a little

Enjoy! Super tasty, and hard to beat in my opinion!

Lesson 2 - Put sliced tomatoes on top
