How Long Have You Been with Your Partner ?
Ask a Question
When reading about Prince Phillip's death it mentioned that he had been married for over 73 years, can only imagine what a huge gap he will leave.I
I have been married for 29 years but we have been together 31 years.
What's your longest relationship?
I was with my ex for 3 years before marriage and 'legally' married for 37 years but no 'marriage' for most of them.
So sorry to hear that, I know that we have gone through patches where my husband annoys me by just breathing!
Don't get me wrong I sure I do things to irritate him on a daily basis
The last year has been tough as there is no escape from each other
beccatavender I finally plucked up the courage to leave 8 years ago, got a good job and moved out. Met my 'man friend' 5 years ago and it was/is like a breath of fresh air and considering we decided to retire early at the end of 2019 to travel, yep travel in 2020, even this past year hasn't spoilt it
Weβve been together for 3 and a half years, married for 6 months.. longest relationship prior was 5 years
Been together 14 years (we're not married) i was 20 when we got together. We are engaged and have been for around 9 years just never 'got round' to getting married but to be honest, it doesnt really make a difference to us whether we're married or not. It would just mean i would have the same name as him and our 3 kids.
PinkElephant26 that very similar to me got together when I was 21. Been together 21 years never married got 3 kids.
We loved together before we got married not much difference beside the hassle of changing your name @Imnotcheap
Imnotcheap do you get sick of people asking when are you going to get married?? I do...its like,we've been together long enough now that its not a big thing and i think its a very expensive day!
I wish I had spent the wedding Β£ on a bigger deposit on a house, I would shaved a few years off my mortgage PinkElephant26
PinkElephant26 people gave up asking us. We already a family so seams pointless making a big deal now
11 years this year we are not married but I say he's my husband lol he did ask to marry me and i said no happy as we are we have a child together and one on the way
beccatavender I honestly don't know lol I know he can be there with me but he can't stay long when she's been born
Leannexxx I had my little girl in June last year (we were in lockdown then) and my partner stayed for 4 hours after
PinkElephant26 im really not bothered I just want him there he feels left out coz he couldn't go to any appointments
I met my husband when I was 21. We will have been together for 9 years this year and married for 6. This is my longest relationship as never been with anyone else.
beccatavender a few of my friends find it strange that I've never had another relationship but I was never interested. Then I saw my husband on first day of teacher training and that was it for me! Marrying him was the best thing I ever did.
To be honest, I didn't fancy my husband but he made me laugh and even after all these years when he tried he still can. It was just easy I could be me@MrsCraig
MrsCraig People think its strange iv only had one relationship too. Met him when I was 15. Been together 23 years nearly 24. (Showing my age there). I adore him, always have. I couldn't have asked for a better dad for our sons. He's still my fav person to hang out with. Still my best mate as well as my partner. Would be lost without him. We have never married, sure we'll get around to it at some point but more for legal reasons tbh.
beccatavender I fancied my husband straight away! He always knows how to make me laugh and I can always be myself around him. It is very easy to be married to him
Glitterandgold that sounds like my husband and I. I still miss him when he goes out to work and love nothing more than just relaxing on the sofa with him or eating dinner together. He is the most amazing Dad to our wee man, who absolutely adores his Daddy. Its been 6 years but I still love it when I hear someone say my married name, its like a little reminder of how lucky I am.
Been with MrsChimp for over 16 years.
Started talking randomly on AOL Chat back in the day and agreed to meet up for a drink.
Didn't think we'd suit eachother in the beginning because on our 2nd meet, she asked me to go to a Bryan Adams gig with her. I don't like Bryan Adams. Still don't tbh.
Anyway, we're still together and she's the best thing that ever happened to me
Firstly, very sad news about Prince Phillip and the huge loss to the Queen. Thinking of them all at this sad time xx. I have known my husband for 36yrs and been married for 21yrs. Almost 2yrs ago my husband was diagnosed with bowel cancer which burst his appendix. He had an op and chemo. When we went back to the hosp they told us he had 2 blood clots and liver cancer. Another op, more chemo and injections for 6 months he is at the moment cancer free. I thank God every day that he is still here and am soooo greatful to the NHS for all their hard work, the Cancer unit was amazing. Happy Times now
Sorry to hear about his illness and great news that he currently cancer free, I think sometimes it makes you appreciate how much you love each other.
beccatavender thank you. Yes appreciated him more but he still gets on my nerves lol x
22 years in June this year. No idea how Ive managed that - there must be something about me she likes!
We have been in a relationship for 5 years. Feels like forever, so canβt imagine what the queen must be going through after 73 years of marriage bless her
6 years together and just 'celebrated' our 4th wedding anniversary, not that we have ever properly celebrated...
Our history with anniversaries:
1st - first baby just born 2 weeks ago
2nd - second baby due in 6 days
3rd - lockdown
4th - lockdown
Maybe next year! But still love it. Very happy with two gorgeous boys! Wouldn't change it!
