It Looks like We Could Lose Hmv

News

Just been reading that hmv are in trouble for the 2nd time. People have been told there jobs are on the line. What a start to the new year for them. Hmv has been going for a very long time. I use to get all my music from there. It will be a very sad day if we do lose hmv. Another high street shop gone. What do you think about it. 🐧🐧

I love browsing the DVD box sets, it isn't the same online. I love all the little souvenir type stuff like mugs, t shirts from the shows.

Hi you posted at almost the exact time I did - I don't know if you found the way to totally block Irksome posters, I did, if you haven't and wish to know just ask.

Apologies for going off subject but it was the only way I knew of to contact Lynibis. Who despite rumours from a more than irksome poster is NOT my wife.😀

davidstockport thanks David, will leave it for now and try very hard to use willpower and not get drawn in. PS I do have a brother called David lol.

Lynibis It's just if you block him he can't follow you round - as he obviously was doing - accusing you of stalking him. I've made him disappear with just a few clicks (cheaper and more civil than a hitman)😀 If you do decide to block just click on his profile "J" then on the three dots . . . (just below the YELLOW share box - top right) - then click on MUTE.

I suppose it had to happen - I wonder how many of us can actually remember the last time we bought a CD or DVD - possibly the last thing many bought from HMV was a gift voucher - if so tell the person you bought it for to use it as fast as possible. (and if you were given one - do likewise)

I am not surprised since you can find literally anything of all sorts on Amazon. High street stores are going to collapse one by one like dominoes in the next decade. Mark my words.

Not surprised. I was surprised that they tried to make a come back in the first place, and perhaps made the same mistakes as before. I haven’t shopped in hmv for years and I’m not likely to ever step foot in one again

I will be sad to see HMV close. I still buy DVDs & Blu-rays, they contain a lot of bonus material that isn't available on streaming services. I also like world cinema and there are still many films that are not available to stream. In addition, if you check the small print of the streaming companies, when you buy rather than rent titles, you are paying to lease rather than own the films. If companies lose licensing rights to particular films you've purchased then you won't be able to watch them or if the streaming company closes you will lose everything.
