Making Adverse References When Making Online Bank Payments

In the News

When i make a bank payment online to someone i normally either put the name of the person or what the payment is for , end of

But this person , named as joe on reddit has had a warning from his bank about his references

It doesn't really surprise me when he was using terms such as 'Taliban training', Jihad fee' and 'ISIS training' for his payments

He might think it hilarious , but i wonder if he would think the same if the terrorist squad came ramming down his front door

I have seen similar happen to people who make a comment they think funny to customs before flying , when asked if they have anything in their cases inflammatory etc, and reply a bomb, and are suddenly grabbed by security to be interviewed

I even saw a news article a few years ago where someone had left a note in the airplane toilets that there was a bomb onboard and the flight was diverted and fighter jets deployed

Two people were arrested over the incident

So i would say stick to the script when making payment comments , or you

might get more than you are 'banking' on

There's a time to be silly and a time not to eh T? Somewhat akin to using an e mail address like sexydraws@ibiza.com on your CV/Job application.

The way some peoples' brains work never ceases to astound me. Just for a bit of a joke because they want a laugh and some attention. The bank one would have got a much sterner letter from me: we no longer want your custom!

Lynibis Its the sort of thing people do on Ticktok L , not something you would put as part of a bank transaction, of course they could alert the authorities , that's if the terrorist division hadn't already spotted it, i am sure they have specialists online 24 hours a day looking for these types of comments and their computer programmes would throw up a red flag if any key words are used

This man has chosen a rather sensitive subject to make jokes about. I dare say he's a bit of an attention seeker and probably did this in the hope of people talking about it and thereby increasing his sales.
