Making Money from Queuing for Black Friday

In the News

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-50570367

A couple from the US are charging $50 (£38) each to wait outside any store in Upland, California, the night before the Black Friday sales

I guess if there’s a demand for it, why not? Although I imagine it’s warmer out in California than here though

What do you think of this?

I do my Black Friday shopping online. I wouldn't pay anyone to wait for me in a queue. Although, this is fairly common with certain very limited edition items being sold in stores that are often quickly resold for a big profit - such as Supreme, Adidas YEEZY, etc.

Ah yes, I can image the demand for such limited edition items, especially if it’s for someone who lives abroad. I know that when one of the iPhones came out a few years ago, there was a lot of hype around it, and as it was being released in the US first, some people from Asia were willing to pay $100 dollars for people to get hold of them on their behalf

All good until they go to swap and it's not allowed - they've given up their place in the queue and the others are queue jumpers.

Yes it’s definitely something against British etiquette. Queue jumping is bad, but it’s even worse over here

Okay, that's enough for me. 😆
