Marks & Spencer Issues Hot Cross Buns Advice , How Do You Heat Yours ?

Ask a Question

Marks and Spencer are telling people not to toast their hot cross buns in a toaster but under a grill

They say the bits that are stuck to the buns like fruit or chocolate chips in some cases or even the sticky glaze could stick to the elements and catch fire

Stay safe when toasting your buns and you will not end up so cross

How do you like yours ?

I squash em a bit and then shove em in the toaster but I do keep a very careful eye on em.I don't wander off and do crosswords or anything like that. Image

I do all sorts, toast, oven if it's on, or microwave. I do use toaster but as Mel says I stand over it as they take less time than toast.

I use the toaster because it is easier and never had any problems with the toaster catching light. I think they are better under the grill as you can watch and wait for the colour you want.

eyeballkerry I usually put bread batches cut in half in the toaster straight from the freezer, that way the bread doesn't stick to the elements and catch fire, so i suppose the same would work for the hot cross buns

Am I the only person who has never toasted a hot cross bun. Sliced open with a good amount of quality butter, perfect

Always used a toaster but been in the area when it happens. Once it pops on goes a load of butter and straight in the gob. Then the cycle continues for another. Now I could do with some ...

The chocolate hot cross buns have chocolate chips inside which melt when you toast them, won’t ever buy again.

I put mine in the microwave as the toaster always overheated the top part or if a currant fell off, it would burn
