Marmite v Bovril
Ask a Question
I've never tried any of these nor do they look or sound appealing to me!
Other than the fact that Marmite is suitable for vegetarians, what's the difference between them?
Does one taste better than the other?
How do you eat yours?
Marmite has a more intense flavour than Bovril and is used more like as a spread, whereas Bovril is normally taken as a drink.
There was nothing better than having a hot cup of Bovril on the terraces whilst watching the football in the freezing cold back in the day.
Yet another "This v That " deal . https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/seems-v-topics-making-comeback
Bovril to me is @ the football when fans could go and it would be with my dad who introduced me to it .
Mature is yeast extract and Bovril is beef ,poor cows boiled down somehow...you can drink either or add to cooking
Reminds me the first time my mum tried Marmite in the 1960s she spread it on like jam! The taste result ing put her off for quite a bit!
I’ve not had either in years, but I reckon I’d still hate marmite, and I may still think bovril is ok, but there are better options out there
Marmite is amazing as a spread or a drink. The key is to put something creamy like butter or Philadelphia cheese under the Marmite and to use fresh, thick-cut bread for the toast. So good and full of B vitamins.
Never had marmite and doesn’t appeal to me. As above bovril is a reminder of football days drinking a bovril or holding to keep warm
