Do You Miss out on Amazon Short Life Deals Due to Being Too Slow?

Latest Deals

I see quite a lot of these offers on Latestdeals where there is a voucher that means you get a fantastic price but when you get there the voucher is gone. I may have responded to the advert only 20 minutes after posting on Latestdeals but it has already been pulled. I imagine it is a deal that has a finite number of buyers before the voucher becomes inactive maybe only 2 or 3 sales. It could also be prime only offers with no mention of prime being needed on occasion. I reckon I get to these offers 1 in 3 times most of the time there is no deal. I did get a very good power bank for £9.99 recently and when I looked back only 10 minutes later it was £14.99, a huge difference in price.

Have you ever been too slow for such offers?

I think I joined LD in 2017 but in all those years I have only ever bought two things from the deal pages. If I were to look at the deals I would be tempted to buy many things I do not need. So, the problems you outline do not apply to me. If I need something I just look for a good price and buy it. I am frugal by nature, have never earned more than 24k yet own my own home outright, run a small car, and raised two sons alone without any of us unduly going without. Money management should be an important part of schooling.

Lynibis Money management should be part of schooling as well as many other things that would help them and the economy perform better. A basic understanding of economics and how the countries finances work may help them make better informed purchases.

A recent news report had teachers in infant school having to teach children how to go to the toilet as they were coming to school without that very basic skill. It amuses me somehow that teachers are having to do that but its also a terrible sign of poor and lazy parenting.

Schools really need to focus on core skills that children must have before leaving school. My brother mentioned that school leavers he was interviewing and employing at his work didn't have basic skills that you would assume everyone had in the past and that was a few years ago perhaps it is worse now.

BonzoBanana Totally agree schools need to teach basic skills to children such as money management, some psychology and honesty just common sense( rather than wasting time on unnecessary classes). In order for the future generations to thrive or at least survive their needs to be changes made.

Some of the vouchers only last a couple of hours, some for days, and yes I've missed them sometimes

No but it's rare that I'm interested. The ones I've been interested in, I tend to order 2-3 of (like face serum etc.) because of times in the past when I've gone back to buy more and the deal's expired 😃

I find a lot of the deals on toxic products, or those containing alkaline/ acid etc, like batteries, nail varnish, sink drainer deals, from some Amazon sellers cannot be shipped to my location. I am a prime member, but despite some being free prime delivery, I get emails about them. Then I see them in here too, I go to get the deal, up comes the location problem. I know most things are based on your browsing history, the AI feeds on this. Yet it cannot select the locations which are within the items catchment area. How clever is the AI? Lol.

I have missed plenty but managed to get some really good ones as well so I am not bothered about missing them. I often have a list of things we need to buy and start searching for them so offers are more likely to come up on Amazon and other sites. Then I am ready to pounce when deals come up.

Yeah most of the time when I click through the price has gone up, I guess they only had limited stock or as is typical Amazon the more popular it becomes then the price goes up. I do find it annoying that they can’t stay on for longer especially when they don’t last for a day.

Sometimes I do miss out on deals as I'm on shift, when I check afterwards the price has gone up so if I really want the item I look out to see if it reappears..

My partner recently ordered Pavers Biker Boots for me,they were on Latest Deals down from £64.99 to £34.99 ,they didn't turn up so partner got his money back...

The other week the same Boots were back on sale on Latest Deals for £27.99..

I now have my Boots at a cheaper price & we got our daughter a pair too!

I missed a deal on £10 Kew garden tickets the other day which was a bit gutting as I've always wanted to visit. Still I guess it's true, you snooze you lose!

jms19 The short life of some of these Amazon deals its more like you blink you lose. My mother is one of the worst for this sort of thing, she needs about 3 days to decide anything and gets quite annoyed when the offer has ended 3 days ago that she finally decided she wanted.
