New Covid Symptoms

Other

Scientists have suggested there could be 4 other main symptoms of covid after England surveyed a million plus covid patients and found that Muscle aches, Loss of appetite, headaches and chills as the common recurring symptoms (most common in ages 17-54)

I've always wondered when these other symptoms were going to validated ... Almost everyone I know with covid had/has body aches or muscle aches.

I'm due to have a test done again after feeling unwell the 2nd time in two weeks .. the first was negative I had chest pains, shortness of breath and slight muscle pain.. but now since yesterday I've been getting a persistent headache and feeling ever so cold despite heating and a hot water bottle, and today the temperature did shoot up 38.1 but it keeps fluctuating .. and different parts of the body feel hotter than other parts. Also general malaise but overall better than yesterday.

I don't drive and I wasn't going to risk going on any form of public transport.. if I have the virus .. I will spread it and that would make me feel very sad.

Because I already had a free covid test from the gov site I wasn't eligible to have another one so I paid for one privately .. should arrive today. It was so expensive but It's important to know right?

What do you think of this?

My auntie and uncle both had covid and their only symptoms were aches, my auntie first with a sore back and shoulder and decided to book a test.. came back positive and obviously track and trace got in touch and they also asked about symptoms and told her she should not have been for a test as didn’t have a ‘covid symptom’

Bit of a joke as if she or her husband hadn’t tested they would have continued working etc throughout. Glad they are finally making these symptoms known

I hope you get better soon and it turns out to be nothing serious. Yes its important to know so you can avoid spreading it and watch for deterioration when my dad had it we kept in phone contact so I knew he didn't get seriously ill with it

Covid virus attacks everything in the body it's just most successful at surviving in the throat and infecting the lungs but could enter the brain and cause a stroke or enter the heart and cause a heart attack. Even the skin could get a rash.

https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20200423/the-great-invader-how-covid-attacks-every-organ

So based on that the number of symptoms probably runs into 100s maybe 1000s but there are about a dozen or so that are the most common.

I had covid in May last year and a second incident in September possibly a bacterial infection on my lungs because my lungs were still healing at the time so would have been still vulnerable to a another bacterial infection. I'm still unsure about the 2nd incident but that is two occasions I was omitted to hospital with severe breathing difficulty but was released in 4 to 6 days after being on oxygen. I've been out of hospital now for about 4 months and my energy levels are just starting to improve again and my breathing isn't back to normal, I still get occasions where I have to breath a little quicker for a short while to get comfortable. Other times it feels like I'm completely healed with regard breathing.

I tend to over-react to infections. Last time I had the flu jab my arm was sore and arthritic for about 4 months as I had such a strong reaction to the vaccine where it entered my body. Same with covid 19 all the damage was basically my immune system over-reacting to it. I never tested positive for covid but was kept in isolation as my lung damage was so typical of covid immune response and I'd never had breathing difficulties before.

So looking forward to getting the vaccine even though I'm likely to have a strong reaction to it especially with the second jab.

I noticed that hospital staff were a lot more clued up the second time I was in hospital as its a learning curve for them too but still they are a long way from fully understanding covid that will take many years.

BonzoBanana bless you .. I'm glad you're in a much better state now ❤️ ..but I can imagine having the lingering after effects of covid must be so scary. Indeed it is a serious serious virus. Hopefully the vaccine will give you some level of protection.

Nadiaparveen I'm not going to pretend I have the same level of symptoms as some long covid sufferers but still I feel it has effected my health and I'm unsure if I will make a full recovery I feel like I'm at 95% of my previous health level. I'm trying to lose weight and hope to get back into cycling more and start doing long rides. Cycling is so great for exercising the lungs and the fact you are travelling through the air means you get ample oxygen its the ideal exercise to improve your health after covid plus of course isolates you from others compared to public transport.
