News That Didn't Seem to Make the News.

I discovered yesterday morning (14th Sept) that the Prime Minister's mother had died the day before. Although I listen to the news on radio and on TV. I didn't hear it mentioned. Just wondered if others hadn't heard about it until NOW? It seems very strange it wasn't publicised more.

I saw it online in a couple of places but the media today would rather report on Britney Spears having a break from social media?! Shows you how the media play to the crowd.... It's a shame they don't report on important matters.
My dog became a father to 5 pups this week and I'm surprised that it didn't even make the local news.

Yes I heard it at the end of BBC1 ten oβclock news Monday evening and expected a follow story yesterday but nothing. Maybe for once the press are being kind.
I heard it on the morning of 14th on GMB or somesuch. I suppose it's worth a mention purely as she was the PMs mum but not really something I have feelings about either way.
It probably didn't get much coverage because most of the public have no sympathy for him

I wondered who the first to ignore my request not to bring politics into it might be - I half guessed though. This wan't posted as an "in the news" topic I was asking why it WASN'T in the news? Or at least not very much.
I must admit, I don't recall seeing anything about this, unless it was a deliberate thing, keep it low key so that the family can greive in private.

TheChimp I don't know your size but you appear to be a very silly man using this topic to tell everyone that your dog fathered five pups, and the "action" took place within a few days of the last signs of kennel cough in your dog (elsewhere on this forum), all responsible dog owners keep their dogs away from other dogs, as recommended by all vets, for at least 10 to 14days after the last signs of kennel cough. The bitches owner is (as is the mother of the pups) very fortunate your dog didn't give their dog more than five pups, kennel cough can prove fatal.
Some things others should know (I know the person I reply to thinks he knows it all):
- Kennel cough is a highly contagious upper-respiratory infection seen in dogs of all ages.
- If you have a dog that becomes ill, it is best to isolate that infected dog until at least two weeks after the last cough.

beccatavender Although I doubt that is the reason, it's good to know I wasn't the only one who found out by pure chance. Even the death announcement didn't mention who she was and didn't name Boris as one of her children, that's probably because his first name is Alexander.

Unfortunately, you don't know anything about women. It's going to be a a tough call for you being lonely for the rest of your life.

TheChimp You obviously know as much about me as you know about the welfare of dogs. And that is obviously ALMOST NOTHING.
Just because I don't post pretending to live with an imaginary wife - doesn't mean I'm lonely.
I wouldn't deceive my friends if they referred to my wife - by pretending I had one - at least my late WIFE (we were actually married) didn't leave me of her own choice.
Whatever I have posted about my personal life, and things since my wife died, has been true - you obviously missed some things when you had me blocked.

I suppose him posting things absolutely incorrect such as "It wasn't a criminal offence to steal a dog" when it DEFINITELY IS. And trying to shoot the messenger when I tried to tell him he'd got it wrong, endears you to him.
They didn't have FLOCK TOGETHER - so that will have to do.
At one time it would have amazed me to find so many people insensitive to the feelings of the bereaved in the few days after the death of a parent. But congratulations to those, who to a few people who show some compassion, have shown themselves up for what they are.
One of my favourite words in instances like this is KARMA.

I have no objection if you wish to lock the topic emmabeckz. You probably have already guessed what is going on. I tried to ignore the most irksome one but he persisted.
IMO the topic is best locked rather than it turn political and get removed - it's served its purpose.
