Help please - Not Receiving a Notification When I Am Tagged
Ask a Question
I wonder if anyone can advise please? I use an iPad with Safari. I am not receiving notifications when I am tagged in a post. I have checked my settings and it is all appropriately ticked. Is there something else I need to do? TIA
Sorry gerrykelly25 I don't have an answer but another member had the same problem and managed to get notifications when I repeated myself, so I'll give it a go gerrykelly25 gerrykelly25 gerrykelly25

Thank you for responding davidstockport.
I have already updated my settings. I’ll see how it goes.
I wouldn’t even know how to do that Ann1984! Thanks for the suggestion though.
Your notification came through. It seems very hit and miss.
Something that has just happened gave me reason to see why some (not all) tags don't trigger a notification is that a space isn't placed before the @ this means that the tag isn't converted to a link when posted. I noticed some time ago that this, quite logically, was also a reason some links didn't work.
Put briefly it means that there should be a space before and after a tag or a link.
You can see what I mean if you scroll down to a reply to me on this (there should have been a space between the smiley and the attempted tag): https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/animal-one-be#5f8c61b7feaf760e1a20cf3f
The @ would then have disappeared when posted and the "@davidstockport" would have become a link. (the quotation marks, without a space, prevented it happening there).
Imnotcheap Thanks you might have helped provide one reason.
Thanks for that ... I have occasionally problems too tho I think they're due to me rushing if I'm honest ... appreciate the explanation.
