Nursery Rhymes....Traditional or Updated?

In the News

Seen on Breakfast news earlier so decided to ask the Latest Deals Community this important question...

Do you & your children, grandchildren, little ones prefer traditional or would you like to see Nursery Rhymes updated.

My Great Neices & Great Nephews prefer the updated songs....According to the videos I get!

Hmm??? Ba Ba Rainbow Sheep have you a preferred way of being identified? Do you like to be called she, them, they, her or it? Or Jack & Jill didn't go up the hill because they were on their iPhones and it was just So Unfair ............... to ask them. LOL

How can young children say they prefer updated if they haven't been taught the traditional? Children stop singing them by primary school so having been taught one way will be what they prefer. Sick of woke, sick of pronouns etc (just use their given name) and sick of all our traditions and culture falling by the wayside.

Lynibis It's the teachers that are to blame for this woke nonsense.

TheChimp far be it from me to disagree but I do believe they are told to follow all the wokeness by their superiors, like kids identifying as cats. It's like a brainwashing cult and everyone's too scared to disobey....like 1984 and big brother. I won't ever succumb to all this madness.

TheChimp there is no need for it anymore, it's just attention seeking. No one is persecuted for their lifestyle anymore so why does any group need to protest, celebrate, and ram their lifestyle down the throats of others. Live and let live is my motto. Have they nothing better to do than dress up like idiots and parade around?

Nursery rhymes are so sad in reality... Three blind mice, is it fun to have their tails cut off with a carving knife? Blackbirds being baked in a pie? Humpty dumpty having a great fall and not being able to be put back together? Jack and Jill falling / tumbling down a hill? Ring a Ring of Rose's, everyone falling down with a disease?.....The list is endless 😥

I didn't know there were updated nursery rhymes. I know one nursery that sings Baa Baa Fluffy sheep but that's it. We sing the traditional ones, not that we sing them that often as he prefers other songs.

Where I work we sing traditional versions. If we sing different songs it's not updated ones just different songs that aren't nursery rhymes. There was a study a few years ago that kids didn't know nursery rhymes so we introduced them to our reception kids and not one new them.

I prefer the traditional nursery rhymes eg Ba Ba black sheep as that’s the Colour sheep are and I will continue to teach my nice and nephew the traditional rhymes as I think the nation has gone mad just because someone thinks it should be different
