One Second Earlier
Other
This morning I was driving round a roundabout when a motorcyclist slid across the road in front of me shortly followed by his motorcycle. A second earlier I would have probably hit him and his bike would have been in the side of my car. Much to the impatience of other motorists I helped him up, he was fine and got on his bike and rode off. I haven't really stopped shaking yet, all the time wondering what a different scenario it might have been if I had been a second earlier.
Anyone else been lucky by a split second.
When I was taking my driving lessons I came across this kid (around 8 or 9 years old) who went in the road on his bike straight in front of me, so I had to do an emergency stop. And as I panicked the engine stalled. Why don't some parents bother teaching their kids basic road safety? I could very well have knocked him over. x
Jamala It would be even worse for train drivers as you can't stop straight away like you can with a car. There are plenty of idiots who like to risk their lives (and the train drivers' occupations) by going on to railway tracks.
RegularComper90 These idiots don't appreciate how they traumatise train drivers, police officers and ambulance crews who have to scrape up body parts. Sadly common sense can't be taught!
