How Can I Get an Online Food Delivery?

Ask a Question

I am struggling to get any online groceries. Does anyone have any tips on when new slots are added etc to try catch one?

In my area I have morrisons, iceland and asda.

I have been unable to get a slot at any shop for delivery or click and collect. Nothing available at all, not even weeks ahead. I have managed for 4 weeks with what I had apart from son leaving some bread milk etc but really do need to top up now. The boys have told me to do a list and they will get but I hate being a burden. I think I may just bite the bullet and go shopping sometime in next couple of days.

Lynibis I did my Mum's first big shop two weeks ago for her but before I had a chance to do another, friends managed to get her an Iceland slot. Maybe your sons could help you with that instead as they'll still be doing their bit and you'll feel like less of a burden - not that you should feel like one at all. We're here to help our mothers you know!

Dennab since I wrote that comment my sons have had a conversation between them and we chatted on our WhatsApp group. They have agreed between them that the one who lives nearer is going to their nearby shop and the one who is an hour away is sharing the cost. They are insisting on me sending a list to include alcohol, choc, treats etc and won't take no for an answer. I am not short of money but they are insisting on paying (they are not short either) and I am feeling very blessed right now.

Lynibis Good lads. I have been asked to do an urgent maintenance job by my Mum so she'll be getting a massive Easter egg as well after my visit to Tesco today. Every little helps!

I have found and been successful with getting 2 deliveries a week with Iceland they release daily at 11.30am your put in a queue. Tesco start putting them on thought out day for next day delivery and asda has been same you have to keep checking someone could have not checked out within time scale

Ann1984 I couldn't find your thread that discussed this. It would've helped, I'm sure.

I’ve had no luck and cant go out and also don’t qualify for the extremley vulnerable list with my illnesses and disabilities sadly.

I’m rationing the things I have more than usual

It is scandalous that someone who is housebound does not qualify for help with food shopping. Have you phoned your council and asked them to put you in touch with the many groups that have sprung up offering help?

Lynibis I am pretty rural and the groups that do help are just out of this area.

I'm on the vulnerable list so locked down for 12 weeks minimum, love alone and no friends or family close by that could help with the restrictions in place, can't get any delivery slots from the supermarkets but honestly, I'm not really bothered. My local shops (it is quite rural) and some in the surrounding areas are doing delivery's, anything from pet food, fruit and veg to essentials which include alcohol, I could even get flour, not that I want any but apparently the big 6 don't have any unless you hit the store at the right moment. Most of them do toilet rolls and stuff too. The service is quick, some times even same day delivery, reliable, cheaper and a the products are a hell of a lot fresher plus it's helping the local economy. I will carry on this way after lockdown as its so much better for me.

£3.09 for a tube of Pringles and about 80% of the products don't even display photos. What a pile of ****.

I just searched for 'milk' it took 22 seconds to show me a page full of chocolate bars with no photos. I've deleted it.

Yahya Sorry if it's your app as this isn't personal but those bugs are not down to traffic. They are just bugs. Some links not working etc depending on how navigation is done - the UX needs work if it's going to charge that much.

Try Morrisons food boxes on the below link not from the groceries page. They more often than not have slots available, you get a set box of essentials for a set price but it'll keep you going and there are 6 different boxes.
