Online Supermarket Deliveries

If you haven’t noticed yet Tesco delivery times if you order alcohol after 10pm for delivery they can’t deliver due to covid rules about selling alcohol
i think this is unfair to the people who can’t get slots plus am sure there is no law on drinking alcohol in your own home.
not sure if other supermarkets are same
I do my shop at asda but they changed so you need to put £40 worth in basket. I have been putting just a few things to start with and adding to it all week
Ann1984 I agree with you Ann, that is if the alcohol is not actually SUPPLIED outside permitted times. The actual time of ORDER should be immaterial.
But if someone is ordering, either in or out of the permitted times, it might not be allowed for the order to be fulfilled until the the permitted time for the sale of alcohol occurs.
As don't drink alcohol didn't know, agree seems bit daft Ann but guess there are about ten other hours you can get it delivered in....
But the money is taken hours before delivery Asda even takes money day before so it’s all daft
It's the same getting it delivered before ten in the morning. If you want alcohol. It has to be delivered between the hours of ten in morning and ten at night. It doesn't let them process it. It's the same at the tills. Blocks it I worked in Asda for 4 years at the amount of people that tried to get you to put alcohol through the till after 10 was ridiculous. It doesn't work. They would try bribes and everything
I think the Welsh rules (no alcohol off sales after 10pm) should apply to England too with the new rules - must admit I originally thought they did - Would prevent the lager louts spilling out from the pubs at 10 pm and into the offies and supermarkets to buy more .
Golfforall but these restrictions are for example I place order today at 6pm but can’t get delivery until Wednesday between 10 and 11pm alcohol can’t be delivered even though it’s on the van at around 7pm.
Ann1984 You can still get the 20 bottle Stella deal on Amazon for £11 . Haven't reposted it as I only consider it a deal under £10 . Unlike some members I only post what I consider is a deal .
Golfforall yeah we get them but I share my slots with Inlaws and they like the tesco cider bloody double price in Wales too
Ann1984 I've heard they are converting the severn bridge into a drawbridge to stop you heathens coming over it and nicking all our beer ?!
What a ridiculous ruling , surely if you order say in advance for delivery you should be allowed to have alcohol.
In Scotland it's after 10 am and before 10pm. Plenty time to buy alcohol as it 7 days a week.
