Original Pricing

Ask a Question

When posting a deal you have the option to put the original price but some items don’t have this and the price it is has always been that price. do you count these sort of items that are not on sale or discounted as a deal? What’s your opinion?

im fine with it because as long as its good value for what it is then it’s a good deal.

What do you think of this?

If it's cheaper than you can buy it for elsewhere regardless of whether it shows as reduced/ or discounted I think it can be regarded as a good deal.

"Original Pricing" is a bit misleading because prices gradually decrease.

"Next Best Price" would be more adequate (suitable). Say, if I post a game which is available for £2, then I'm not going to put the Original Price of £39.99, right? I used to do that, but it just ain't right (to mislead people).

I think as long as you think it's a bargain, you should post it

Original price and similar wording is a complete joke . British retailers such as Argos , John Lewis and Currys PC world mainly abide by the spirit of it .

Then we go onto Amazon marketplace much beloved by LD deal posters and the original price is totally made up in order to advertise an unfeasible discount which gain huge likes from the gullible .

Members do yourselves a favour , know the worth of an item ,even look at identical items on Amazon you will see varying "original prices " and discounts .

Don't waste £20 on a piece of Amazon Chinese "tat" just look at similar items and you will find you can waste just £10 on identical "tat" .

Excellent answer Golfforall, I get tired of seeing ridiculous so called deals on here from Amazon, when you really look into them they aren’t really a good deal at all and as you say the majority is cheap Chinese tat.

Uniqueone Most annoying is that many members in a hurry looking for a quick "deal for points" don't even look at the alternatives and often end up posting the most expensive of a dozen identical Chinese marketplace items .

If good value then great as long as not just cheap because it's not good
