What is the Best Electric Oven for Baking?
Ask a Question
Im looking to buy an electric oven. Which kind of ones are the best for baking.
I am not an expert but I guess a fan oven is better for baking as it will (supposedly) cook evenly. As for make I doubt anyone can help unless they have used a few different ones but I would suggest dearest isn't always the best, though cheapest may be the worst.
I have a double oven and until I got an air fryer I used the smaller one regularly, only used the bigger one when family round for roast dinner or batch cooking. I would never go back to a single oven.
My mother in law is a baker. She has a range master. But any fan oven will be fine for baking.
Consider buying a stove with two ovens, you can choose which one to bake in. Cakes brown quickly in a fan oven. The top one being normal heat and the larger one a fan oven.
As Lynibis has stated neither high end or cheap is the way to go, the most sensible choice is somewhere in the middle. Case in point Miele who charge ridiculous amounts for oven accessories and repairs can be so uncompetitive compared to other brands. I wouldn't trust Which either their reviews are often flawed and pointless. Always worth checking what accessories and repairs cost before making a final purchase. I feel seeing an oven is important. I remember looking at freestanding cookers many years ago in Comet or Currys and one of them I almost pulled off its stand as the front door was stiff and the cooker was made of such light metal material. It's nice to see what you are buying when it comes to such purchases even if you look at it in Currys but actually buy it cheaper somewhere else online.
