Do You Take a Packed Lunch on a Day Out?

Ask a Question

When you go on days out to places like the Zoo and Theme Parks, do you prefer to buy food there and make a treat of it, or take a packed lunch to save money? 🍽️

I do for work. Holidays I usually eat at home or take bits with us. On occasion I do eat out but not often

I do, you have to take a good pack up when going out for the day. Or even travelling to holiday resort. But I also then have the option to buy something nice from wherever I am depending if it takes my fancy 😏

I always take food out with me if I know I am going to be longer than a couple of hours. I also have as I am prone to headaches if I do not eat at regular times.

I like to buy pre-made sandwiches and pastries from M&S or lunch meal deals from Tesco.

Always. Coach trips. Days out even to the park. Saves quite a bit of money. Just think of how much you would have to pay at the road side petrol station.

If I'm on holiday as in away not off work but proper holiday I don't usually we are in hotels so it's harder to do that.

I do when travelling to mums or going to London. If I'm going out for the day then I tend to have a good breakfast that will hopefully last me all day till we get back or have a nice meal on the way back.

You can make an interesting packed lunch for the Family. Their favourite bits. You know what the Family is eating and you still save money. I usually overdo it and the leftovers are devoured on the journey home. Win win.

I'd always avoid buying food from places where their food is very expensive, theme parks, cinemas, sporting events etc. I'd either take my own or buy food/snacks before entering from a local supermarket. In fact its gives me a lot of satisfaction when I'm chomping on a 15p bag of crisps and I see they would have charged 75p at the attraction itself.

Yes always take a packed lunch.

We visited the Natural History Museum at the weekend and they were charging £5.35 for a tiny piece of rocky road!

Luckily we knew about the picnic area in the basement so we enjoyed our lunch away from the crowds.

Sometimes me and my mum take a sandwich up town for lunch. Saves going to cafes.

I always take food it’s so expensive to eat out and honestly with kids they need more than a meal in a whole day so I take plenty of snacks too so they can munch whenever they like

It depends. If I know we are going somewhere that’s a tourist trap, i

l pack stuff or buy stuff before I go. But sometimes it’s nice to have a treat
