Are Pantomimes worth the Money ?

Not for me it gets very expensive for a family to go, they Make a good school trip.

That's positively cheap so must be a local theatre as in the West End cheapest would be more than double that.

Our local theatre charges £50/60 for a decent seat and to be honest the seats are sooooo uncomfortable!

Usually the kids get one at the school and we don’t have to pay but it would cost a fortune for the whole school

They used to be cheaper, and I wouldnt ever go unless I got a good deal on them. They’re a good laugh but not worth it if they’re expensive

Try and find your local amateur dramatics society they might perform a show around Christmas.

I haven't been to a Pantomime in about 19 years. I wouldn't pay that for a ticket personally, but I imagine it is probably the average these days

I have looked at going over the last few years as haven't been for such a long time but unfortunately they are far to expensive for me. I guess they must sell all the seats otherwise they would lower the ticket prices!

I suppose it depends how many are going in our case would be 5 so no I wouldn't go but you would have a good time so ........

We booked recently for a local theatre, adult tickets were £20 and kids £16 which I didn't think was to bad but then the booking fee was £11.60 and transaction fee £3.80 which I find ridiculous. The kids have never been and my little girl loves watching theatre on the TV so I'm hoping it's worth it.

Yes. I just go to local ones and save up vouchers and things for the big uns. Last year got tickets through the Daily Mail for Shane Richie in **** Whittington. It was great.

No for myself, but if you are taking your kids yes As they will love it. Making memories is priceless..

I went to one a few years ago and don’t recall paying that much. It was with Toadie from Neighbours, Dirty Den from Eastenders and Richard Hillman from Coronation Street. Best pantomine I have ever seen and I would have paid £25 to see it as it was brilliant. This was shown in a theatre in Sevenoaks.

I've not been for years and years now but I always enjoyed them as a child and it's a great family day out if you have the budget

Love pantos and always used to take the kids when they were younger on Boxing Day each year. As they are grown now we no longer bother. The price of Theatre tickets generally thou is shocking , especially when shows such as Panto only last around 90 minutes. The Bristol Hippodrome near me, prices start at £13 but these are really poor seats , anything vaguely decent is priced at over £30 per seat

I love a good panto.The local town hall shows are usually cheaper.

Absolutely love a family outing to the panto! My granny takes her kids/grandkids as part of their present so great evening for us all

Christmas as a child meant that we got to go to the local theatre with our grandparents, we lost them fairly young, so I don't remember massively, but I know that they make me emotional. I was quite a quiet child and got embarrassed easily, but I can vaguely remember one year getting up on stage at the end with the crew. To this day they remind me of my Grandparents.

Our local theatre is £10 a ticket.

The larger theatre nearby is £13-£41 per ticket with a booking fee of around £4.

It is good to experience it, especially if you never have.

I can't really say if it is worth it, as it depends on everyone's experiences and enjoyment. If someone loves cars or football, they would be willing to spend a lot more than people that don't necessarily enjoy them.

I did do some work experience behind the scenes with one before though and a lot of work goes into it, I doubt if those that get paid for them, get a huge amount, when it comes to the cost of everything and the amount of performers they have. So I think it is a fair price, lots are often for charities too, which I would definitely consider.

Wow I didn’t realise the tickets were that expensive as not been to one for years.
