Party Playlist
Ask a Question
I’m putting together a music playlist for my wedding reception - i’ve got two separate playlists of chilled / acoustic songs for during the buffet and then dance songs for later in the evening..
any suggestions of songs that get you up and dancing at a wedding?? Or chilled / country / acoustic songs?
Are you having a band or a DJ or doing the music yourself? Is the buffet the main meal or do you mean the buffet for the evening guests? If it's the main meal I imagine there will be a seating plan, so you don't actually need music as people will be talking to each other, but if it is for the main meal just make sure it isn't too loud otherwise people won't be able to hear each other.
For the dance music later on, a mix of new and classic songs, with some slow romantic ones will be fine. We had a band and just told them what we wanted for the first dance, father/daughter, mother/son and then a few dedications and they just played a mix of current songs and classic songs. We had a ceilidh and found more people danced at the ceilidh than the disco. Mil had a DJ and he did the same thing, a mix of current and old.
We’re just going to have a friend monitor a playlist playing on hired speakers, to save on costs.. he is a sound technician but not an ‘official DJ‘, so that’s why I need specific songs to add to the playlist
sarahgreen15 ahh I see, well at ours mama mia, dancing queen, shut up and dance, I wanna dance with somebody, got everyone up dancing. I will see if I can find a list of the songs we had. If not I've added the link for the band we used, if you scroll down the page there is a list of songs that they play which are popular at weddings which might help with your list. https://www.wonderlanduk.net/wedding-hire
