People Being Rude in Shops...?
Other
It's unbelievable ....when you go in a shop to buy something or to have your hair done and the people there are rude they act like they don't care but they have expectations from you to go back ...any of you had this experience?
I've heard staff being rude to eachother, swearing at eachother while stacking shelves, which has put me off going to that shop. Shame because it was home bargains Also the salon I used to use the stylist had a full conversation with her colleague the whole time she was doing my hair, just ignoring the customers which I thought was rude so I haven't been back since
Tasha042...when I went last time to cut my hair while getting ready my hair she was talking over the phone...some of them they don't have any manners ...
I totally agree with you most shop assistants ignore you and just hold their hand out for the money. it is so rude and no one will pack your bags for you but expect you to pay and move off somewhere imaginery to pack. I have often had them serve the person behind me while I am trying to get my stuff in the bag. so rude
mmokane24...well then they should not have expectations...I can't go somewhere and pay and they just ignore you ...it's sad really...
Whenever my husband goes into a shop, he forces the assistants to talk to him! He will ask them questions and make conversation with them.
I can't remember an assistant being rude to me recently, it wouldn't necessarily make me stop shopping there though.
Yeah I see this quite a lot nowadays, especially in clothing shops. I know it must be a tiring job having to stand around all day and help people out but if you reaaaaaaalllllly don't want to be there, then find another job? Or if you need the money and have to stay in the job, surely its less tiring being kind than being rude? I just think being polite is free and it makes people happy so why not just bloody be nice. I love it when someone is enthusiastic or is nice to me, puts me in a good mood and leaves a good taste in my mouth.
it's a generational thing. some people don't even look you in the eye anymore, and even if you are in the middle of a conversation, when their phones start to buzz, they are on it, dropping everything else!
Perhaps it's not being rude but more to do with them having inept social skills? Some people find small talk uncomfortable.
I tend not to go back to places if the staff are rude. But, in my experience it's mainly other customers who cause problems.
