Phone Contracts
Money Saving
Where do people tend to find the best phone contracts I think some are so expensive I’m not fussed about anything fancy as long as I can have a few apps and be able to email.
I just use sim only deals now. I look after my phone so found I'd get a new contract with a phone I didn't want and pay over the odds. I pay a 3rd of what I used to do and get a far better bundle of calls/texts/internet
I also go Sim only. My iPhone is still functioning perfectly, so I went for a £6 a month deal with Sky.
If all you need is SIM only - there is one that is £10 every four months (120 days)
which allows you 1,000 minutes of calls (any of those minutes can be used as a text). Furthermore any minutes left are rolled over to the next period. There is no contract - I've been using it for over a year and have £38.74p of credit (3,874 minutes or texts) built up.
I could give you a code which would get you another 500 minutes - but don't think that would be within Latest Deals rules. They might contemplate applying for affiliate marketing. Tom It's "1pMobile"
lornaae If you're using 5gb of data the above might not be suitable for you, data costs 1p a megabyte, but is available to buy for less. (I only use my phone as a phone and don't use any data)
davidstockport wow that's brilliant! I've never heard of that and will definitely check it out!!
lornaae If you check it out on TrustPilot - you will find the only people to give negative reviews are from those who don't realise that it is essential to pay £10 every 120 days. (even if you've got credit left) I have my settings that if my balance gets down to £2 - then £10 is taken from my credit card otherwise it's £10 on the 120th day. ALL AUTOMATIC So all that would happen if you used more than than about eight minutes a day (on average) is that the £10 payment would come sooner.
It is actually Pay As You Go - with no contract. If you want to leave you just don't pay. (any credit wouldn't be refunded).
I have not found any mobile deal to even closely rival it for those who don't use much data. You can if you wish transfer your current number. Although that's not essential.
I think sim only deals are much better value, I pay £6 a month and get about 5gb data which rolls over and unlimited texts and calls on ID mobile - run by car phone warehouse
I'd also add, decide what you actually need before looking, no point paying for packages you won't use
I agree so many people are paying a small fortune for mobile phone use because they're offered fancy packages they don't need.
I think the price of contacts have rocketed recently. My phone is now out of contract but I refuse to pay the silly prices they are asking. Sky mobile seems to have some good deals every so often
I like mobiles.co.uk normally you can find good deals there. I think most of my family members are their contractors now.
The best ones are after you've had one for a while and manage to get a good retention deal.
I don’t bother with standard contracts. I look for cheap offers that don’t tie me in, preferably only for 30 days so I’m not locked in
Im with Tesco Mobile on contract that were able to offer me better deals at a better price that what i was paying with the previous company (even though i worked there and a staff discount) - they do sim onlys aswell and they cap contracts so you dont go over you monthly payments.
Virgin mobile seem to always have reasonable deals on, I am with o2 and pay about double what I could be paying with Virgin!
Have to wait until 2021 until I can join them though lol.
