Not sure if its available over the counter but migraleve is very good. Some over the counter pain medications have caffeine in.

Had mine done for migraines & best thing that I have spent money on.

Instead of a number of migraines a month. I know have once every now and again... Screen time, Stress, lack of sleep and hormones are the usual contributers to the headaches that I know get.

Instead of intense and dibilitating migraines I used to have. I used to be attached to a toilet having sensitivity to sound (even my own breathing and heartbeat used to be extremely amplified) and light.

Also lots of articles online

I would go in and ask the pharmacist. They will be able to give you a few different suggestions. I always just use paracetamol.

SaveMeSunday I don't get migraines often anymore, used to get them all the time. Only think that worked was being in a dark, quiet room and closing my eyes. Sometimes the paracetamol doesn't touch me either, but as I don't get them like I used to I just suffer through. Definitely ask the pharmacist.

There is a migraine preventative drug..... But its on prescription.... It is called PITOZOFEN.... It changed my life..... I have now been on it 10+ years... just take it one table at nighttime...

Worth asking your GP....xx

I have migraine meds from the Gp, I find an energy drink helps me due to the caffeine I think.

I’d love to know too.

But once my migraine has set in, it is usually too late. I’ve tried all sorts to try and help.

I have to lay down in a dark room, my brain feels like it is trying to escape my head. A cool compress on my forehead can usually help a little, quiet room but as said above you can hear your heart and brain pulsing. I’m not sure paracetamol does anything but I still take it if I can, for the chance it could. Ibuprofen is suppose to be better, but I know it can be an issue if you take other things or have other illnesses like Asthma. If you have no issues you should be able to take Paracetamol & Ibuprofen.

I usually have to vomit and then it makes me feel miles better or I have to wear sunglasses around the house for the next day.

I hope you are okay. Try talking to a pharmacist if you can, they are usually really good for things like this. If it persists and is regular then it might be worth seeing a doctor. If it’s the same time every month it could be hormone related, there might be something they can do to stop it or reduce it before it appears.

I suffer from migraines and ocular migraines and I have tried quite a few over the counter remedies as well as GP prescription medication but I find that ibuprofen or paracetamol with a pint of water, and half hour in a dark room helps me also eliminating foods to see what triggers them, and I also make sure that I am hydrated as sometimes being dehydrated or over tired can cause them. I now know the first signs for me which is numbness in my mouth or a kaleidoscope flashing in my eye (ocular migraine) so I usually can catch them early as if I don’t I usually end up vomiting

Migraleve. I swear by this and used it alot before I was diagnosed with cluster headaches and prescribed sumatriptain injections - which aren't as fun as they sound.
