In the News

Council felled 110 council cordoned off the trees with metal fencing, sent in security guards and in the cover of darkness on Tuesday night, destroyed more than 100 with chainsaws over a few hours . Surly It is dangerous to do.this at night!

They were not diseased and it is believed the council acted at night to.stop legal action that was underway to stop them!😮

I saw this on our local news, there is still 29 trees remaining as locals got an injunction at 1am to stop the felling but sadly 100 had already been cut down.

Midnightflower I have just heard it on the radio and it seems as if they were being sneeky! It's awful and they say it's happening all around the country!😪

rowley1943 from what I've seen many locals objected but the council went ahead and did it anyway. From what I remember about the area, I think they could of done a regeneration with having to remove the trees.

Midnightflower they comment it happens at night because of health and safety so maybe that was the reason !👍

We’ve had similar issues locally in Wellingborough. Feels counterintuitive to remove tree from flood plains that are already flooding

Unbelievable. Spiteful is more accurate. I am hoping the locals will remember this when voting for another party in their local election.

Absolutely disgusting. This is awful glad the locals stopped it. Bloody council not listening to those they serve and doing what they like.
