How Often Do You Replace Your Hair Brush?

Ask a Question

I got my current one not too long ago maybe just been a year now. But the material of the handle is silicone I think ๐Ÿค” so thereโ€™s lots of dusts on it and no matter hot much I wipe clean itโ€™s the same!!..

And I donโ€™t like seeing hair brush getting dusty either so I do use shampoo ๐Ÿงด to wash it. Does anyone else do the same lol ๐Ÿ˜

I don't actually own a hair brush. I just use my fingers to brush my hair. It works for me. I used to have a hair brush years ago and even then didn't really use it. Didn't like the feel of it on my scalp.

kitty88uk disinfectant lol. Widely used before all the modern bacterial sprays etc. About 39p for a large bottle which you can dilute and use in same way.

I just buy new one every 3 months because I hate when it looks like dust is on my hair brush I wonder why that happens

ClaireBrowett That happens with one of my sturdy hair brushes - I think it's a type of plastic and maybe a kind of static that dirt clings to it. It's probably cleaning dust/dirt in your hair that you can't see so it's probably doing it's job like they were invented for in the old ages. I wash it most times I use it.

hky thank u for letting me now what it could be that sound about right after all the dust we get around use and when out side it more then likely true is that what people say from back long time ago thank u

ClaireBrowett No prob ๐Ÿ™‚ I didn't know many other people had the dust problem too. It's just that one sturdy hairbrush I've recently gone back to, that won't break after going through others that have broken, that has really bad 'static' cling. I think products made a long time ago are made to last compared to ones made nowadays.

I had my last hairbrush for years, it was regularly cleaned but eventually a lot of the plastic bristles came off. I tried for a long to replace it with the same one but no luck.

eyeballkerry yeah tell me about it! You get a hair brush and itโ€™s so good that when it breaks canโ€™t buy the same one again! ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ should have gotten another one for spare lol

Canโ€™t believe the prices of hair brushes these days!

One I got from Wilko before it closed down costs ยฃ1 lol been a year or so and the bristles are getting lumpy so soon have to get new one otherwise it can damage your scalp!!

Yes, my hairbrushes are washed regularly because I use hairspray. I used to pull all hair off then put it in the dishwasher until one day my husband emptied the dishwasher and found it on the top shelf.

I've been using hand sanitiser spray on mine for a while now, not sure if it's an effective way to do it but it is definitely the easiest way for me as I am less abled. I still get a new hair brush every few months and remove any loose strands left in it after I use it by running a tail comb through the bristles.

EmmaWright762 oh I see yeah I did think to use hand gel too but I donโ€™t like the strong alcoholic smell lol

So after every use take all the hair and bits of dusts out and use shampoo when it gets too dirty lol ๐Ÿ˜

tara73ziva that sounds about right lol ๐Ÿ˜ I always get rid of the hair every morning and use it only then, definitely replace brush when bristles are worn out before damages my scalp

I used to have a hairbrush that actually lasted 2 or 3 years with this one from Wilko just about a year or so and the texture is starting to change

Need to get a new one lol itโ€™s like they donโ€™t make them like they used to or I donโ€™t buy the ones over ยฃ5 lol

Donโ€™t see the point spending that much money on one if they are all the same doesnโ€™t last long!
