Posting Deals?
Latest Deals
what are the rules regarding posting deals I thought the point was to find savings/feebies? I keep seeing lots of posts with their everyday prices listed- particularly cheap plastic tatt from amazon and the OP saying thing to effect of thought this was cute etc
- 28 days to not post the same deal (or at least on the same retailer)
- better to use Next Best Prices than RRPs as RRPs can be inflated (Wish and GoGroopie have ridiculously high RRPs for no reason than to pretend the product was worth that much).
- if a freebie has a shipping charge then it's a deal than a freebie.
- feature a picture of the deal that represents it.
Those are some, I'd say.
Rockman and Johnny thanks guys I had a look at the basics but what i was getting ar was what you touched on Johnny it either should be a discount or a hot item ie new or a soughout item I would agree. What I am seeing is masses of say £1 earrings socks and food that is just at normal Next best price - feel this is really lazy and undermines what LD is about.
You can read some Guidelines, here:
https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/guidelines (note 'a deal may be re-posted after 30 days')
I think as a general rule ‘Deals’ should be at a discount. However it can be a bit subjective because LD users also like to know about new products coming onto the market (often at full price) that might interest them, and sometimes simply where they can find hot products in stock (especially hot Christmas toys in massive demand such as Hatchimals and the Luvabella Doll in previous years).
I just posted Baby Shark Fingerlings at The Entertainer at £15. This is full price and The Entertainer is the only mainstream retailer that has any! They’ve just arrived in the UK. Baby Shark Fingerlings are likely to be one of the hottest toys for Christmas 2019.
Another one I posted at full price is the new LEGO Friends Central Perk set (the American TV sitcom) that was released for sale on September 1st 2019, price £64.99 and is selling like hot cakes.
I think LD users would rather know, than not know, about these.
And sometimes just the fact that something is free delivery makes it a good deal. (E.g. 48 Spooky HALLOWEEN Tattoos - 74p with FREE DELIVERY). And sometimes a product can be really good value even at full price.
As to cheap plastic tat deals – I’m generally not a fan of those either.
I thought that posting the same thing but in different colours was against the guidelines but I've seen gazebos shared from the same seller yesterday. (so what do I know?) I suppose it's down to reporting them because a polite comment is going to rub somebody the wrong way. (I didn't report it as it's even worse when you get the 'you were wrong' message)
Haha please do report anything you're not sure about.
Even if we decide otherwise it's often borderline or subjective and so we won't penalise people for those sort of reports. You can even include a comment saying "Not sure about this" in the report
Hey OneeyedRaven
I guess our main rule is that the poster should feel it's a genuine deal (whether that's because it's cheap, a new product, limited stock, or anything else).
We do remove some posts where it seems as if very little thought/effort has gone into the post and we can't see the value in it. We'd also encourage people to report posts that they feel are just being shared to earn points.
If you ever share something where you think others may question it it's often good to include a snippet in the description such as "I know it's full price - but it's the only place in stock at the moment!" or similar so everyone knows why it's been shared.
Other than that - we leave it up to you guys to like the good ones and let the subpar ones disappear into the abyss!
I think we could do with a "Whats New" section, where you could post newest and latest upcoming products. I'm aware of a number of new Christmas lines due in the shops in the next few months, but they may not necessarily be discounted or reduced. As an example the Aldi Cheese Advent Calendar due late November , this quickly sold out last year, or Tesco new Christmas Turkey Curry Wrap due in store late October, again not a deal as such ( thou it should be part of the £3 lunch meal deal)but may be of interest to others on this site
Hey thanks for the suggestion!
But just to be clear you can absolutely post things like the cheese advent calendar as deals
