Prince Andrew 'begged Ghislaine Maxwell to clear his name' but she refused, report claims

The Duke of York begged Jeffrey Epstein's alleged “madam” to clear his name by publicly defending him but she refused, it has been claimed.

Ghislaine Maxwell is the only other person said to have been present on the night Virginia Roberts Giuffre has alleged she was forced to sleep with him when she was 17.

“Andrew pleaded with Ghislaine to publicly defend him,” a source told the New York Post.

IS this a search of desperation or has she just put him right in it?

Virginia Giuffre, the Prince Andrew accuser, has filed for a civil lawsuit in New York. This will likely bring him a lot more negative attention. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. I doubt he will be visiting the USA again.

I'm surprised more people have spoke about this as when Harry or Meghan fart wrong and people are all over them, yet a potential paedophile in the royal family who has refused to give evidence and its quiet compared Harry and Meghan.

SilverSurfer Your right but I think Meghan & Harry were more relevant and current than Andrew who has been in out of the limelight for many years before this, just like Prince Edward . Does anyone knew where is is or what he's up to, does any really care probably not.

If I was accused of something this bad my first priority would be proving my innocence he is simply trying to avoid a trial. Doesn't seem to be the actions of an innocent man to me

I must admit that when I first saw the footage of him hiding behind the door at the nonce mansion I did believe he was a cringey no user and would be outed, but I always thought he'd escape prosecution, I'm glad he's being prosecuted because he's a really poor liar, and he'll not be wanting to go down without naming a few other high profile names who were all part of this "Let The Canary Sing".

People in a position of power doing what they want and lying about it, the news is getting more like a soap opera, can we exchange him for the hit and run lady. I do feel sorry for the innocent people that get accused, but if you had the resources and opportunity to clear your name you would do it.

I think him no longer being a Prince says it all really. If you were innocent you'd fight it. It's not justice but it is something.
