So, if you have a mask (FFP3, preferably) then you may consider wearing it even if some people find it odd. At least you're wearing some sort of protection.

The price of masks that protect against viruses has increased. There are still some decently priced.

I was of the understanding that the face masks only last between 20minutes to one hour mac because of the water particles when you breath out breaks it down?πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I think all this coronavirus business is going a bit too far now and I believe that the news stories we keep hearing about is mostly scaremongering. Yes, we should take precautions but is it really as bad as they say it is? It is most likely no worse and no more contagious than an everyday flu. Newspapers just want something to report on, and now that they don't really have much to say about Brexit seeing as that's all out of the way, they find something else to talk about.

I'm still not sure about how dangerous this virus is. I've already had the flu and a vaccination and although I didn't react well to the vaccination, my arm throbbed slightly for a few months I do at least have that protection. The issue with any new strain of virus is how you react to it. Most of the people who die from the flu are probably getting it for the first time or very vulnerable to virus due to a pre-existing condition or old age. How will my body react to this new virus is unknown, its' not certain I will create anti-bodies to the virus in a timely fashion and it seems like if a large number of the virus enter your body at the same time your chances of recovery are much reduced as was the situation with the doctor who first reported the virus who later died.

I certainly think face masks are worth using, anything that reduces your chance of getting the virus is worthwhile even if it isn't guaranteed to protect you against it.

I agree that a common sense approach is best, be a little more careful but don't change your life because of it. Like all such things its a lottery you may be ultra careful and still get it because you are unlucky and you might take lots of risks and not get it. Maybe if you have vulnerable people you are regularly in contact with be extra careful for their sake as it could kill them.
