Roald Dahl Day
Other
Did anyone know today is his birthday and he would have been 102. Good excuse to read one of his books with the kids. My boys loved BFG and I always did a different voice when reading it. Did same for first granddaughter and she loved it. In fact when her mum tried to read her a chapter she pulled the book out of her hands and told her she 'didn't read it like nana with the voices' lol. Happy days. Lots of Roald Dahl Comps around at the mo.
I love reading Ronald Dahl books. I've not read all his books. But one day I hope to read them. I've read Charlie and the chocolate factory. And I did not know untill the other day there is a follow on. Which I must get. I've not read bfg . And there a film out has well. Must get the book first then watch the film. I thank aulds are also a secret reader. . They would not say becase its a chilren books. But the ones i have read ive in enjoyed them and i will carry on reading them. Make a change from my normal read. Do you still read them.
No only to children when i get the chance but kids dont seem to like being read to anymore, once they get into tech.
Roald Dahl was one of my favourites - his characters all had wicked senses of humour, very british and I learnt loads from his stories. My favourites were James and the Giant Peach and the Twits. Have not come across another writer quite like him
More modern but with the naughty vein are the David Walliams books, my grandson has quite a few.
I love Roald Dahl too! My son and I have read most of his books. I’m lucky as I work with kids so perfect excuse to keep reading. My almost 16 year old not interested in Roald Dahl anymore
