Rolling Stones Tour Manager Mick Brigden Dies in Tragic Accident

In the News

This is a very sad , a very talented man who represented and met some of the music greats

A very strange way to go,he injured himself whilst digging a grave for his pet dog in the garden of his Santa Clara home and died

So strange that there's no mention of what the accident was, if anyone's interested; apparently he injured himself with the spade he was using to bury his dog. (things aren't too clear yet)

RIP Mick.

MelissaLee1963 The public will have to wait and see what happened here, as Mr D says if it was with a spade then possibly he injured his foot with it, severing an artery , i cannot think of any other way he could of died through digging, except a heart attack through exercion

Either way very sad

telmel I had some weird thought that he may have fallen in after a heart attack brought on by exertion.

MelissaLee1963 I thought that too M, but i assumed the dogs grave shouldnt have been that deep , well normally anyway

But saying that you can slip and fall into something shallow and injure yourself that way , so it is another possibility

Ah sorry M, i just re-read your reply ,senior moment, i saw you mentioned falling in due to a heart attack, yes i agree there

The fact that it was not mentioned obviously provokes speculation but the truth will out I am sure.

The only information I could find was that he injured himself with the spade and was taken to hospital. I knew quite a few tour managers and although I can't recall Mick (by surname) he looks very similar to one I knew from quite some time back - hence my interest.

To clarify "tour manager" isn't necessarily the manager and isn't the road manager (roadie), they usually, as Mick did, arrange accommodation, meals and travel etc. for acts - usually on a freelance basis, and usually travel with the acts.

On a lighter note: I recall asking the Everly Brothers' tour manager why there were two stretch limos for them. His reply (I've Bowdlerised) was something like "How the **** do you think I can get those two ****** in the same car - I can't even get them in the same ******* hotel".😀

Johnny That surpised me - how deep was he burying his dog?

It also surpises me that if this is true: https://www.tmz.com/2021/09/11/rolling-stones-tour-manager-mick-brigden-dead-dies-grave-dog/

The dog wasn't dead - it was put down two days later.

We'll probably hear next that the dog was a little upset seeing him digging a grave for it. And tried to bury Mick.

This could be funny if not so tragic.

I recall watching a Simon and Garfunkel re-union concert in Central Park sometime after artistic differences set them apart. There was a spirit moving in that place and a rapid exchange of glances which projected a life time of forgiveness. It was electric.
