Rude Road Users !

I live out in the sticks and it’s necessary to pull right over in to the hedge when passing an on coming vehicle sometimes to allow enough space for it to pass. I’ve just driven through our village pulled over 3 times and not one driver put their hand up or even nodded an acknowledgement even though my car was so far in the hedge I was nearly upside down !! Well maybe not quite that far in but certainly in the hedge.
This infuriates me ! Being polite costs nothing.
Hi nipperjwb i to live out in the stick. I live in the highlands of Scotland and I've farm. I know what you mean. The other day I was out and had to pull over. And the car was going that fast it broke my mirror. And I felt that I would end up in the field. And other day I had to stop and 7 cars went buy and no wave of hand. I thought how rude. When a car stops for me I all ways wave to say thank you. And this happens to me most days that drives do not wave there hand. Like you said being polite to other drivers cost nothing.
I always without fail smile and say thanks. I’ve also had a couple of wing mirror incidents too over the years.
Hi nipperjwb yes like I said they go to fast they. Think they own the road and no one should be on the road. I am sorry to say this but it's the posh people in there great big 4x4s.. they just look at me to say why are you there. And think to my self how rude you are.
It's best not to let it get to you - just pray to the motoring gods that they meet someone with similar manners a bit further down the narrow lane
A couple of years ago Dawn French sent these drivers to room 101. It was hilarious. Yep, lost plenty of wing mirrors and have scratches down the near side from being tucked into hedges because I dared to be on a lane and not so much as a thank you. Oh well tourists will be descending soon......
Like my driving instructor said to me: "Will those drivers pay your fine? No. Why do they matter? They don't. Just mind driving as you should per the law." He can be kinda rude but he's honest.
So in other words, just mind your own business while on the road and don't mind the rest. Get yourself safe to your destination.
